Easy to use and works extremely well!
I needed to clean my (shamefully neglected) engine on my 2007 Ford Focus. It was quite dirty and really needed a good wash. I am hesitant to use a pressure washer in the engine bay as it could push water into unwanted places. After a bit of research, I came across this and chose the Foamy version as it was the least 'powerful' of the brand. As the 'Foamy' title implies, this stuff comes out kind of like shaving cream on steroids when sprayed. I really liked the foaming action and it was easy to see what areas I had hit and what I may have missed. After a minute or so, the foam will dissipate and the cleaner will cling onto the sprayed areas.Rinsing this off was very easy and little water pressure was needed to rinse the cleaner off. After a thorough rinsing with water and then air pressure to get the water out of all the crevices, I am extremely happy with the result. This worked really well at getting the road grime and grease off of all the engine parts that were sprayed. Even the shiny metal bits were sparkling once again. There is enough product in the can to do two average size engines with moderate coverage. If you are doing heavy coverage, you will likely not get two full engines worth of cleaning. Overall I am very happy with the result and can say that I recommend this product to anyone who is going to clean their engine!

Makes your engine clean, but not necessarily brand new
I've now used this on two motorcycle engines as well as my 2005 Civic engine. It works pretty well. It didn't leave the engines absolutely sparkling, but they are definitely much cleaner, and any oily residue is all gone. My Civic for example had a pretty significant oil leak that I fixed, so I used this to clean up after, and now I will easily be able to tell if it's still leaking oil or not. And my 2003 Honda Nighthawk is already in excellent shape, so this just got any grime off the engine and left it looking pretty close to new again.Essentially it won't necessarily make your engine look better than it should, just clean.I've been using this at the car wash. Before I spray any water on the engine, I spray the Foamy Engine Brite all over the entire engine (avoiding certain things like the alternator, though) so it's completely covered. I let that soak for 10-15 minutes. Then I start with soapy water from the pressure washer and finish with a thorough rinse. I've gotten confident with the motorcycle and just use the pressure washer at full blast, but I was more gentle under the hood of my car because I didn't want to force water somewhere it shouldn't go. I haven't had any issues doing it this way on any of the vehicles.

just as expected except one crucial miss!
This is just a can of aerosol spray, nothing fancy about it, expect when you realize that spray nozzle is missing when u open the cap... :( I hope mine was a one off thing. I kind of got mad and disappointed when I realized this as I was planning to use this product as a piece of cake. Considering the options, I didnt want to send it back or anything but attempted to use it by finding a matching nozzle from the other aeresol sprays in the house.. In the end, the product content works as described (used it on my motorcycle) but since I could not find an exact match for the nozzle at home, using the spray turned out to be messy. I hope someone from GUNK reads this and makes sure this is not a common product packaging issue.

Impress when the hood is raised...
Do you want your engine clean? Do you want to impress people when you pop the hood?I've tried every brand of engine cleaner that is readily available and only this "Foamy" version does the job for me.One can of this foamy cleaner is not that expensive. Use the entire can to completely cover your engine with the foam. Give it time to loosen the crud. You can rinse with a slow stream of water or you can use a pressure washer. Take care to cover anything that is sensitive to water or your car will not start......or it will and it will run like crap.Follow up by spraying a complete can of foaming tire shine/cleaner over your newly cleaned engine. Your engine will look as good or better than the day it rolled off the lot. You're welcome.

Cleans, but not what I expected
I purchased this product not realizing that it was a mild engine cleaner. It removed light dirt and some road grime that didn't have a chance to cake itself onto my engine's parts, but the tough stuff stayed put. I had to come back through with some 409 and a cloth to remove some of the nastier grime, which wasn't a big deal to me. But, please be aware that this product is not designed to remove tough grease and/or oil, nor even moderate dirt buildup on rubber parts. As of this writing, Amazon does not specify that this product is mild, but on the product's webpage and on the back of can itself, its cleaning power level is quite clear. In addition, Amazon's stock product photo is outdated. On the can I received from Amazon, there is a large white circle on the bottom of the can that reads "Step 1 Clean," indicating this is not a heavy-duty product. If I had known that prior to purchase, I may have reconsidered the product.

Works like a charm, easy, fast
While the engine is cold......Open the hood, cover the oil cap and alternator, lather the engine bay with the foam. Go do something else for 15 mins. Come back with the hose on low pressure and gently wash all the oil and dirt away. For any areas it didn't just come off on its own, I bought $2 gloves and $2 non-abrasive pads which easily took the dirt and oil right off.10 mins of work max.......
