Security Lock Patio Sliding Door Barricade Dark Bronze

Easy installation. Kind of expensive for what it is. The mounting screws are kind of small. I wouldn't want to rely on it in a life r death situation, bit it adds a layer of security over the standard lock n a sliding door. I still add a board in the track when I'm not home.

I used this device to secure a new sliding patio door. It was installed on a ceramic tile floor. The hardest part was drilling holes through the ceramic tiles, but that is not an issue related to the product itself. Once the holes through the ceramic tiles were complete (but not into the subfloor), installation was very easy. Removal and installation of the barricade is simple enough. It works like it is supposed to. And I like that.I have one suggestion for the product. Sliders are often jimmied from below to pop them off the track to gain entrance. Newer sliders have devices on the lock side that engage the frame to keep that from happening. Perhaps a future version of the barricade could interlock with a piece mounted on the slider to keep the slider from being either wedged open, or jimmied from below? It may only be appropriate for wood sliders or wood-cored sliders.
