These are great combo detectors, easy to put up and very clean looking. The mounting base is wider so it covers and fits over a round box no matter the depth of the box and sheetrock. Way better design than the cheaper detectors that can be purchased on amazon. So yes they are expensive, but trust me when it comes to the installation you'll be glad you paid alittle more for it.

I had to replace my smoke detectors. These are the newer versions of what was already in my house. They installed easily with no modifications needed and work just as they should.

My smoke/co alarms were failing, dropping like flies and when I went to Lowe's I was shocked at how much the replacements cost, so came here to Amazon and found this model for a pretty good price. I've had to buy two of these boxes and probably in the next year I'll buy another. Very happy with how easy it is to install. Comes with a battery and everything. When I placed my order I was worried that I might get an older device that had been sitting around in a warehouse for a while but was very pleased that the manufacturer's date was quite recent!

You know why you're buying these. You want to keep you and your family safe. These things work and work well, but as you may well know they have a limit of lifespan. With that being said, if you do choose to purchase these, please look at the production date on the back of them before you put them into use. If they are not from the same year that you purchase them, return them

I ripped out a 20 year old device and bought this one based on ratings and the newest on the market at the time! Installed it with no problem (wired and interconnected) and no issues at nearly two weeks! Green light just dim enough to see at night! Great product great company! I bought 5 smoke alarms for other areas of house.

Only brand detectors we ever buy! We buy multi packs so little cheaper! Super easy to install and last for years! Some last so long we frequently test to make sure they are still good!

I had six (10 year) Kidde Smoke detectors and one (7 year) First Alert Plug in CO Detector. After just five years, the Kidde smoke detectors started acting up. (Meaning, Woke Me Up Too Many Times With False Low Battery Warnings!)So, I decided to switch everything over to five "First Alert" Smoke Detectors and one "First Alert" Combo Smoke/CO Detector. This unit was super easy to install. It comes with the wiring harness and the mounting plate. I decided to install all of these detectors as single units (meaning, I did not install the orange wire) so that in the event one throws a false alarm, I don't have to blast the whole house, and I can easily remove the offending unit quickly. (I do have a small one floor house so there is no need to have six alarms, but the previous owners cut the holes.)There is one very difficult to see green light when it is plugged in. The test button sends out 3 slow beeps for the smoke test and 4 quick beeps for the CO test. I can't vouch for any false alarms on this unit, too soon to tell, but the plug in CO detector I've had for the last 5 years has been trouble free and it is on its original batteries, which still show as full. So, I'm hoping for the same results.

this is a replacement hard wired smoke detector. I found it quite expensive.

Exactly match the one I needed to replace / same brand even if the model number had change/Easy to install and battery included . No longer available in store. Very satisfied/

Smoke detector is a great choice for the price, it detects smoke and carbon monoxide. Very little maintenance required. Hardwired with a battery backup. Very happy with this product.
