Defective Product Causes Electrical Shorts!
6 Pin to 8 Pin CablesThese cables are miswired so where they should have a negative wire they have a positive wire. It caused burn of one of graphic card components and destroyed my graphic card that I shipped to my customer.I shipped other cards to my customers with these cables and they sent them back saying they do not work. After cards came back they checked OK because I had correctlly wired cables. Finally it clicked to me to check these cables against properly wired ones that is when I found out these cables were incorrectly wired. Short is on that removable two pins on the plug. Please do not use these cables on you valuable equipment they can destroy it!

DO NOT USE for cards 7950 or bigger!!!
I couldn’t get these cables to power 2 different AMD Radeon 7970 video cards. I thought the Main board on the 2009 Mac Pro was bad....Nope darn video cables were not good enough to power either video cards. Once I used cables from my other Mac Pro, which were thicker cables, the video cards worked!! Cables are cheap wire.

Mac upgrade from 2010 MacPro Tower to a new video card. had to have dual 4 pin for the new card and this worked and the install went perfectly.

Underpowered for high-end GPUs
Attempted to run both a GTX 1070 and Sapphire Pulse RX580 but they were underpowered. Two of the 8-pin leads piggyback off of the neighboring leads. Try finding a "Dual Mini PCI-E 6-Pin to Standard PCI-E 8-Pin power cable" here or at another retailer, so that the 8-pin connector is drawing power evenly from both of the 6-pin connectors on the backplane board.
