CA-2X4SR CA2X4SR CA-2x4 Original Comet Dual Band VHF/UHF Mobile Antenna W/Fold-Over Hinge 140-160/435-465 MHz - UHF Male (PL-259)

This is a very rugged antenna which performs very well across both 144 Mhz and 440 Mhz amateur bands. It also receives well across the VHF/UHF public safety and fire frequencies. This is my second purchase of this antenna and my first one has survived 5 years on my SUV in Michigan weather.

Arrived quickly and product is perfect and as described.

The media could not be loaded.  Really nice quality. No measurements but it receives and transmits well.A little tall for my application so I have to watch low hanging trees.

I am using this as a base antenna with a nagoya re05 groundplane using 2 short and 2 long radials. I have used it on 2m and 440 with 1.00-1.02 across the entire bands. On gmrs it is in the same range it seems good on murs as well. Swr Starts to get high at the too of murs.

Works good, SWRs fine, not to tall or to short. No mobile problems with it.

Comet is always Comet, and Ive always found them to be great. I can receive from 58 miles away on an Icom 2100H with this thing lip mounted on the passenger door edge. Now, I'm not an Old Man but that's good enough for me!

I actually use two of these antennas; one on my truck, the other mounted on a ground-plane kit and used as a base station antenna. Very flat SWR across the vhf/uhf spectrum, including MURS and FRS. Excellent reception.
