Great multi use leash
We have a spool leash for walks. But for just about everything else we use this.It works great as a seat belt. Ideal for taking into a store because it is hardy and short.I clip it to my bike for bike rides where she runs along side me.She loves it. Knows when I grab this leash we are going somewhere.

Very effective!
This worked extremely well! Our Rottweiler is very used to walking with the leash but she walks on the right side. I was worried she wouldn't adapt well to being on the left. To help her get used to the bike leash pulling her back and being on the left side, I attached her walking leash to lead her and held it in my hand while I rode. She took to it like a champ and it was the best time I've had exercising her in a long time! She saw another dog a couple times and started to pull away from the bike but I was able to easily adjust to the pull and she came right back where she was suppose to be. The center of gravity with this leash is much lower than others and doesn't effect the bike as much.I'm a fairly experienced bike rider and our dog is very used to walking with a leash. I would say both of these things were key to our success using this product. If both of these are true for you I would definitely recommend this bike leash. The affordability ($26 at time of review), the durability, and ease of use make this 5 stars for me.

Works great
My dog is a strong puller but you can't even feel it with this product due to the strong elastic. The only issue I had is my dog is used to being on my right side for walks, luckily my bike has another bar I was able to use on the right side instead of the left as intended with this design

Most dogs can outrun their Owners!
I ran up to 4 dogs for dog sledding over a period of 10 yrs. A tired dog...is a Happy (and Healthier) Dog! Sled dogs, as well as most other dogs, WANT to run year-round. I put on as many as a 1,000 miles each summer on a Mtn. bike. I tried a LOT of different iterations of dog connections. Bottom line is the lower you can get your dogs connected to your bike, the better. Having a dog or more connected to the front of the bike (Handlebars, stem, frame) is a recipe for disaster at some point! Attaching them to the Rear axle area is best, as this one does. BnD suggests running your dog on your left. I suggest connecting and running your dog on your right. IF you meet someone on a trail, you and your bike will be between the other People, Dogs, etc. Most bikes have a gear cluster on the right side, Leaving less room for the BnD leash connection. An easy way around that is to buy a Derailleur Guard (under $10) that is easy to mount and makes connections with the BnD leash easy. IF Your dog wants to walk/run with your bike, they will learn very quickly where to position themselves and how much range the lead will allow them. The "built-in bungee" will allow them to sense they are reaching the end of the leash pretty quickly, without jerking you around too much. They will "settle in" pretty quickly as they enjoy their opportunity for exercise! Do yourself AND your Dog a Huge favor and invest in one of these Bike connections for the Health and FUN of both You and your Dog! Oh, and one other thing! Some dogs are skittish when it comes to running next to a bike. I'd suggest that IF your pooch seems a little stand-offish, that you connect them and then walk with them with your bike. They may need to get comfortable with the idea on running next to a bicycle! One "bad situation" (Bike falls over on them, as you are readying to go, etc.) and they may not want anything to do with the process. I'd also suggest that IF your pooch seems skittish, that you always make hooking them up the LAST thing you do. No putting your helmet on or anything else that could lead to them pulling a bike over on themselves. be ready to go, hook them up and go! Maybe begin your "ride" with a block of walking, so they settle in. Take your time. Encourage your pooch. Last thing. I see that most of the low ratings are due to the length of the lead. Making the lead the perfect length for EVERY sized dog is simply impossible! You may need to invest in a longer lead to fit a larger dog. In my experience, you want the dog's "shoulder" about even with your pedals. That way the movement of the pedals is behind their "line of sight" as they walk (OR Run!) forward and that seems to help "nervous dogs" settle in more quickly. You DON'T want them so far forward that they will inhibit your steering! I've had a couple of dogs that didn't wany anything to do with running next to a bike, converted into those that can't wait to GO! Ride Safe...and wear a Helmet!

Dog doesn't have room to really run.
Simple good. And if you are not going to run your dog ok. But if you going to bike and have your dog run along, not just trot, then forget this rear bike mounting and get into bikejoring.

Great purchase!
These have been so great for my dogs! They love that they get to go with us when we go for a bike ride, without getting run over or. These leashes keep them far enough away that they remain a safe distance from your feet and the tires, so they stay safe; yet is short enough that have to pay attention right there with you, so they're not getting too distracted by everything surrounding them. These leashes keep my dogs safe & happy as qell as my daughter so we can ride safely and confidently knowing our fur babies are enjoying the time with us while staying safe! We have a medium to large breed dog, a puppy of the same breed and a yorky. The leashes work great for each of them!

Would not recommend
When we received this item and saw how little it was. We knew right away this would work for our purposes. We have a 100 German shepherd. This would not allow the dog to stay a minimum distance seat from the wheels and sit sturdy enough to support for our needs. We immediately put it back in the package and returned, not even trying it on our bike. Instead. We ordered a much more expensive one that has a longer pole to keep dog out further.

Super
Funktioniert absolut super 👍.
