Took away my back pain
I am a writer, so I'm at the desk all day, and suffer chronic back pain. I was shocked to discover that a big contributor to the problem was my mouse.I had particular pain in my upper back on the right side, and it went away completely when I started using this mouse platform a year ago. Then I got a new second desk, where it wouldn't fit, and temporarily went back to the old mousing. Within a week, the pain was searing again. I kept the mouse platform on desk #1 and use my left hand for the mouse at desk #2. I really hate that, but it takes away the pain.A big part of the mouse problem for right-handed people is actually in the keyboard. Most of us believe the keyboard is centered on our body, but take a look at it. All standard keyboards center the number/letter section on our body. But nearly all keyboards today come with two clusters of bonus keys: the up/down section, and then the 10-key pad. So if you put a standard mousepad to the right of your keyboard on your desktop, it's much further away than if you put it on the left. (Try it.)This odd angle of having your right elbow stretched way out to the side and suspended really wears after hours, and tugs at your supportive back muscles unevenly. This is less problematic if you have a keyboard drawer close to your lap, but it's still off kilter. The much better solution is to get the mouse down near your thigh where your arm is resting anyway, and also off whatever is holding your keyboard, so you can get the mouse right underneath the shoulder using it. This invention solves it.---I have a couple quibbles.- It only opens up about 1.5 inches, so it won't quite fit around one of my desks--an Ikea model with a desktop that's 2 inches from top to bottom. Che- It doesn't lock into place tightly, as the previous reviewer said. It mostly stays in place, but occasionally falls off. (I can get it back on in about 10 seconds, so it's not a huge deal, but slightly annoying.) I'm going to experiment with putting a felt patch in there.- The gray (felt?) covering that your hand and the mouse sits on is not very durable and shows dirt badly. It's not removable, so you can't replace it or even clean it well. It started looking kind of dirty and ratty after a year. I ended up throwing it out and replacing after a year. It still worked fine, so you can use it longer, but for the price, I decided to treat myself to a new one. It's also not the most beautiful thing in the world: looks kind of cheap and plasticy, since it is. It looks like it's worth about $25. It's extremely functional, solid and saved my back. For that, easily worth $25. I'd buy it again, and did.

Mouse Platform Review and Measurements
Before purchasing I was trying to find out some additional specifications which weren't available. I ended up buying the Aidata Mouse Platform and have installed it (which was super easy). Here are the measurements I was hoping to find in the product description:It hangs down under my desk about 3 1/4". This measurement is from the base of the surface it is attached to down to the bottom of the cap that is below the actual platform that the mouse sits on. My desk is 3/4" thick so from the base of the bottom cap to the base of the top connector is about 4".The top of the platform which the mouse sits on is about 2 1/4" from the base of the surface it is attached to or about 3" from the base of the top connector. It is working for me in that it raised my mouse about 1" from the surface of the keyboard tray. Initially I thought I needed my mouse raised higher than that, but I'm experimenting with the ergonimics of my workstation and for now it seems a more appropriate height. It doesn't allow me to move the mouse over my keyboard which is on a keyboard tray that the mouse platform barely clears. I would need 1 1/4" clearance to do that. This could be achieved by placing something 1 1/4" thick between the top of the connector and the top of the desk. However, that would raise my mouse so high that it would put my hand in a position directly opposite of what is recommended to prevent carpal tunnel, and it wouldn't be very aesthetically pleasing.I do wish the height of the platform was adjustable so that if I raise or lower my chair I could adjust it accordingly and it would solve the above mentioned issue. I think I saw a significantly more expensive model that had that feature, but I wasn't willing to pay nearly 5x the cost. And as I mentioned earlier it seems to be working well for my needs.

Cheap and has many problems, but suits my needs perfectly
This is made of cheap plastic, the mounting requires screwing from inside rather than beneath (which can be a problem if you want to move it), the plastic cap that goes over the bottom never stays on, and when I rest my hand on it the things tilts downward. It also does not lock into position. However, the largest inexpensive keyboard tray I could find on Amazon to screw into my desk didn't allow enough room for a comfortable mouse, and it's a bit awkward to have the mouse higher than the keyboard. This just happened to sit level with the keyboard the way it sits, and when I put it to the left of the tray the keyboard tray acts as a stop which keeps it from moving around, while the gap between the surface and the mounting hardware is just enough to push a padded mouse pad through giving me a larger and more comfortable surface for my needs, which doesn't feel as weird when the surface dips down. Since it's mounted to the corner of the desk on the outside of the "wall" it also can't swing around the other way and cause any problems there.Pretty much every negative can be counteracted with clever placement (and be removal of that plastic bottom cover - it won't stay on no matter what I try. Not without glue at least.) so I decided to be generous with my rating, especially considering the cost.Actually though, I originally bought this hoping to attach to the keyboard tray, but the flexible plastic made that impossible to do comfortably, and don't even think of using this to flip over the keyboard tray and overlap. It really is too awkward to put anywhere but the outer edge of a keyboard tray, and while most put it to their right, it ends up being far more comfortable placed on the left - once you get used to it, that is.Referenced drawer: Kensington Underdesk Comfort Keyboard Drawer with SmartFit System, Extra Wide, Includes Wrist Rest (K60004US)

Solid first impression
I wanted a mouse tray to bring my mouse lower and in front of my keyboard. I was worried that this would feel too flimsy, but so far it's pretty sturdy. We'll see how it holds up after a full week of work. There are only two things I don't like about it. First is that the tightening mechanism is hard to move, since it's between the bracket and the desk surface. Second is that the bottom cap that keeps the platform attached to the bracket is really, really difficult to get on, as another reviewer pointed out. You're supposed to be able to twist it, but I don't think it's moulded properly. I scratched out a little bit of plastic using a hobby knife, but I still needed to grip it with pliers to get enough torque on it. At least I'm pretty confident it's not going to come off!

If you have a gaming laser mouse, won't be enough..
Edit: seller was extremely courteous and understanding. If you have issues with any product, have a chat, they are super nice to deal with.Surface of my unit isn't flat. Its curved up and down. My Logitech G700 gaming mouse can't stay flat on it. I bought this entry level device to see if that was something that would work for my setup but it isn't good enough...Might work with blue light mice and multisurface mice or maybe my specific mouse tray is defective, I'd like to know.

Surprisingly sturdy and fits well with my desk
I am pleasantly surprised by this desk accessory. Since working from home, my set up is not the most ergonomically friendly and before I used to have shoulder pain as my desk is higher than my arm rest, resulting in me having to raise my arm to use my mouse. With the addition of this accessory, it allowed me to lower my arm and hand back to a comfortable position and has resolved my shoulder pain. Surprisingly very sturdy and would recommend in case you can't afford a full desk or chair replacement.

Great product!
Great product overall!Installation tip : For those having a hard time installing the plastic cap underneath (that keeps falling), I strongly suggest to use a Vise-Grip to screw/fix it. There is not enough grip to twist it by hand. Mine is fully clipped and will never fall off again!

Wish it was bigger.
I actually quite like this mouse shelf. However, it is awkward using the mouse on it especially with my wrist gel pad. Barely any room to move the mouse around even without the gel pad. And when I use my gaming mouse which is larger its super awkward because my gaming mouse is bigger. Kinda disappointing for that reason.
