The Bald Truth : The First Complete Guide To Preventing And Treating Hair Loss

This is THE best book on hair loss out there.
I am a MD in a Cosmetic Reconstructive Surgery group and all the young men who come in wanting hair transplants (which we do NOT do after reading this book) we refer to this book. It is stellar. Not sure why it would get any negative reviews. IF YOU HAVE HAIR LOSS AND ARE A MAN, PLEASE READ THIS BOOK! You will not regret it and if you do what it says you will get great regrowth results. THE BEST POSSIBLE. (BTW: I also have had 12+ #1 books on Amazon -- all medical -- and speak from a tiny bit of authority that this is a great book and I understand why people cherish it.) Thank you Mr. Kobren!

Great Book. Great place to start.
This book is a quick read that provides a great starting point for those that have realized they are losing their hair. While yes, all the information in this book is available on the internet, that can be overwhelming. This book presents what is known about hair loss in a quick and easy to read book. The best part is that this book gives you the reader hope, and shows that there is a way to slow hair loss.

Ignore the TV ads and read this
Like many of you, I've wasted a lot of money on products I knew (deep down) really couldn't work. This book discussed them, but more importantly it discusses what really works.I've taken the step of surgery and now 2+ years later I'm happy every day I comb my hair, my real hair. My doctor recommended this book (he's mentioned in it, Shapiro). Don't let the details of surgery scare you, it's nothing and this book shows you how simple (but time consuming) it is.

Excellent source for valuable info on hair-loss treatment options
This is a very well researched source of information on various types of hair-loss treatment. The author speaks from experience with successfully combating hair loss after extensive research on various products. I think that makes the book more credible than the self-promoting product sites out there. The author covers virtually all of the effective methods of hair loss treatment, including Propecia, herbal suppliments, topical solutions (monoxidil etc), hair transplants, and more. A must buy for all those interested in knowing pretty much all there is to know about hair loss treatment options, their effectiveness, pros and cons, etc.

Easy read. Most of the information I already knew. Was hoping there was a magic cure in the book.

Where do I start?
I must say, this book did absolutely nothing for me. It was horrible. If a guy is such an expert on hair then why is his so disgusting. Diets are not going to help people grow their hair back. Any permanent solution would cost thousands of dollars. By the way, is this guy a 50 year old trying to be 20?! You're not cool, you're not funny. Quit doing a show about ONLY hair!! Quit, just quit now. Stop. Please do us all a favor and just give up on yourself now. Go back to managing a Hard Rock restaurant.

Some basic facts fiction and tips but only for men
I bought this for a family member but if you are a woman looking for advice about hair loss this is not the book for you. The introduction is somewhat misleading in this regards as it specifically mentions both male and female hair loss problems yet the main treatment options are exclusive to men (e.g. Propecia). The book covers in some depth the main causes of hair loss and provides basics on reduction and possible treatment options including drugs and transplants. It's a reasonably interesting and easy general read but not sure there is anything novel in this book and it's not cheap. I would suggest taking a closer look at the contents before you purchase.
