If you loved the ride...
With the large amount of "shovelware" out there for the Wii that inevitably revolves around waggling the wiimote around like a maniac, I can fully understand how if you've never been on the excellent ride at either Disneyland or Disney World that this game is based on, that this might seem to simply be expensive (~$40 at the time of this review) sholvelware. If, on this other hand, you have a Toy Story Midway Mania addict in your house between the ages of say 5 and 10 (as I do), this game could make you the worlds best parents (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc...).At it's most basic, this game has essentially 4-6 stages for each of the stages on the ride. These stages are grouped into chapters. Two or three of the stages play just like the ride (One will be mostly identical to the ride, and any others will be different). The other stages are similarly themed midway style games, with some examples being playing the shell game, Woody's Lasso game, swinging the wiimote to build up power then swinging it down to launch LGMs into space, and skeeball. Each stage has 2-5 objectives, and at the end of each stage you are rewarded with "tickets" based upon your performance. Completing all of the objectives unlocks the stage for free play mode. Tickets can be used to purchase virtual stickers and sticker books, the "3D" levels and any games that you have not unlocked by completing objectives. This game can be very frustrating at first for two reasons. The interface while beautifully themed, lacks the important feedback to tell you how to select things (or even what to select). I suspect that someone at Disney Interactive was more focused on form than function, and didn't want to mar the design with helpful information. For the record, just like Wii Sports it's "A" for Accept and "B" for Back. The second reason is that the makers decided to force you to play through the story mode in one sitting in order to unlock both the story chapters and the free play mode. Fortunately this takes only about an hour, so I recommend that two adults just spend the hour and blow through it to open up these other modes. (Your kids with thank you.)In story mode, you play through the first two stages for each chapter. Once you unlock the story chapters, selecting a chapter will allow you to play through all four stages of that chapter. In free play mode you can select either individual stages to play, play through all that you've unlocked or create a "play list". (note that you have to use the yellow arrows in the middle of the screen to move between chapters. It took us 15-20 minutes to figure that out.)The "3D" levels are IMO, not worth the tickets they cost, which is not really a big deal as the "2D" levels really do an adequate job of re-creating look and feel of the ride.Overall the makers of this game did a fine job of re-creating and expanding upon one of Disney's best rides. If you are willing to give this game a little time to get past the poor choices, this game can be a lot of fun for the whole family.

Good, but not great.
This game is based on the ride at the Disney Hollywood studios in Disney World. Having gone on that ride myself, this game seems like it would be a perfect match for the Wii and it's controls. It seems to work out pretty well. The Wii-mote tracks with pretty good accuracy. Most of the games (if not all...I haven't gone through the whole game yet) from the ride are included in this game. The developers added in special actions you can do with the remote to get extra points. In my opinion, these actions take away from the game more than help it. Just like the ride at Disney world, all I want to do is shoot the targets and rack up as big of a score as possible, not try to figure out special movements while I'm trying to shoot. The game also has new levels that you won't find in the ride. Some of these are short little side games that seem out of place such as a variation of the classic shell game (ie: put a marble under the shell, they get mixed around, now where is the marble). They also state that the game has some 3D levels. Heck, they even provide glasses. After trying out the 3D versus the standard version of the levels, I really don't see any 3D effects. If anything the 3D is much harder to look and and play with. I'll stick to the standard graphics. All in all, this game is a fairly good adaptation with some quirks such as the extra smaller levels and the 3D. I question how replayable the game is once you get through all of the levels, other than to try to beat your own score. This game is much better when played with a partner.[...].

Fun, but hard to figure out
I got this for my 2 year old, bc he was obsesssed with this ride in Disney World. But getting into the game itself, it hard. I got it for Christmas and have yet to read the instructions. (I'd rather play around with something rather than read the directions). But I have yet to figure out how to get into the different mini games. And whenver you put the cd in, you have to start from scratch and type in your name and go thru the whole menu and it just is a long process. Perhaps there's a way to save your games where you can just click on your already saved name and hit start, but I haven't figured it out yet. We've got the first game/pie throwing, down, but it's all we seem to be able to get into. There is a wheel that you take a "stick" and grab a 'game' off the wheel (or so it seems) but it only ever grabs the pie throwing game and we can't seem to play anything else. Probably twice I've gotten into 2 other games, but I'm not really sure how I accomplished it. Perhaps a 12 year old would do better than me.

Better than I expected
I got this primarily for my 6 year old, and it's actually better than I had hoped.I won't go into the game details, that's been done in detail by other reviewers, so figured I'd just remark on how it went with my child who it was purchased for.The games are easy enough for him, and while the repetition would get old for adults, for a child the repetition isn't as bad, and gives them a chance to get the hang of it to do better next time.I was surprised at how many different games there were, I hadn't read that far into the description when I ordered this, and our first go through, I kept expecting to hit the end of them. There's a little delay compared to other games that are "shooting" types on the Wii, such as Links crossbow and such... So it's not as accurate to play as others, but that didn't really detract from the enjoyment.

Love it!
This is really fun. I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as my 5 year old grandson, but I do! It's not too hard for him, but his wrist does get tired after too long shooting.
