From Lard to Suds
This book is very informative. It has details and recipes for simple to special kinds of soap. Unfortunately, after reading this, I've decided that dealing with lye and other ingrediants would require dedicated equipment which costs and the processing is just too much risk for the small batches of soap that our family would need. It is a good basic book on soap. Try it if you're adventurous and have access to well ventilated outdoor processing area.

Calling all beginning soap makers
Very basic rexipes, but good for the beginner. No real explanation of the science behind soap, but more than sufficient for a newbie to decide if he or she likes making his or her own product.

Good information about three processes of making soap. More recipes would have been helpful and a few more fragrance ideas.
