UPDATE - I’ve buckled……..
Ordered this Monday, it was delivered well packaged on the Thursday. I asked for a stainless steel filter after I had placed my order and it came fitted with one, along with 6 teaspoons. Let's be real, this is a kettle that boils water. Yes maybe so, but it is beautiful to look at, looks the part on my worktop. Looks very well made, dare I say the forgotten word 'craftsmanship'. I have wanted an Old fashioned looking kettle, the kind that looks nice on a gas stove but wanted the modern twist of electric powered. The water spout pours lovely. I've had this less than 2 days and hope I have not been unduly bedazzled by its charm. I looked at Dualit, Smeg etc, but I thought all a bit samey and mixed reviews with the price tags.Update 19.10.19Kettle still going strong. For appearances sake we have to keep up with ‘polishing’ the shiny metal, but anticipated that when we bought it.We, no, I keep up with descaling and because all metal and well made this descaling goes very well maybe due to being able to see properly inside.Very pleased with purchase as I was perspiring a bit when I paid over £100 to boil water. But had loads of kettles over the years and I think this one wins the race.Update 5.3.23Still got the kettle. Still as good as 1st bought. I’ve slacked a bit on the polishing but is the longest serving kettle I have owned.Hope I haven’t jinxed things.....I keep checking on here to see if same the company do a nice looking toaster to match.Welllll 18.02.24Can’t believe it myself, still got the kettle.Polishing slipped further since last review.Still keep checking if they do a matching toaster.Longest serving kettle I’ve ever owned.Must confess, do own a Le Cruset stove top kettle, but that is an ornament. I dust that every day. Still has leaflet inside !Update 17.03.24Well I’ve buckled.Wanted a new toaster, and our existing one was well passed its best.Looked and looked for a smart looking ( will be sat on the worktop all the time) new toaster and decided what the heck I shall buy a D****t one.Wow quite expensive to brown toast…..but…..what about getting the matching kettle, so yes I did. Again, £££ for boiling water. Our existing kettle? Nothing mechanically wrong with it. A bit less polished as got very lazy with that, but fully works fine. What our new brushed chrome jug kettle has that the old one didn’t have was a visible water gauge, a lid that doesn’t have to be removed every fill time and isn’t shiny see your face in the metal that has to be polished to look good. And a neater circular base mount. My new purchases look fab on my worktops, and old toaster in the skip and old kettle put in a cupboard for now but will either skip or give away.

Stopped working after 2 years
I bought the green version of this kettle which is a beautiful design. Loved the fact it was plastic free and looked great on my worktop. A little after 2 years it stopped working - keeps cutting out after a few seconds of boiling. Wouldn't buy this brand again

It diidnt last
Bought this product in May 2017. It is a well put together kettle, it's sturdy and looks good. However the kettle made a very loud noise every time it boiled, it boiled the water ok but if you were hoping for a quiet boiling this kettle isn't it. Fast forward to September 2019 and the element in the kettle has burned out, conviently just after the two year warranty is up. I paid around £100 for this plastic free kettle hoping for years of service, and healthy cups of tea and coffee. An old cheap plastic kettle I still have is still going strong without any issues after 8 years. Extremely disappointing that this kettle hasn't lasted beyond two years.

Best kettle you can buy. Worth the money.
Bought this after reading the reviews. Very pleased. Basic functions and top quality materials. A real pleasure to use. I wanted a traditional looking kettle for our period kitchen and it looks great. Not too heavy and pours nicely. Boils quickly and quietly.

Using the kettle for 4-5 months now
I write this review with a heavy heart, I'd love to give this kettle 5 stars, because it is great- quick boiling time, looks sturdy, no cheap plastic parts in it. The only thing missing is cup measuring mark. We are very hot on saving water in our household, so for me personally, a line inside the kettle marking how far to fill the kettle for one or two or more cups of tea, would be very convenient. I can, however, find a way around it by having a measuring jug next to the kettle. Besides that, its a great kettle, next to our Magimix, which packed up after 7 years of usage, this is the next best kettle we have ever owned. After 4-5 months of using the kettle: if I were given a choice, I would not buy this kettle again. It's not the fastest kettle, to be honest it is too pricey for what it is. The one thing that made me downgrade original 4 star review to 3, is having to deal with constant water drips every time you want to pour water into the kettle. To fill the kettle, you got to take the lid off. Water leaks from the lid onto the actual kettle and drops fall on the table. I know this sounds pathetic but for the money I paid i suppose i expected a very well thought off design, i definitely did not expect water rings.

Well worth the money!
Just what we wanted. No nasty plastic to spoil the tea, good pouring spout, relatively quiet operation and lovely polished finish. Seems reliable (we’ve had it for a while now). The added gift of 6 nice teaspoons was a bonus. Not a cheap kettle , but you gets what you pays for! Great purchase.

The perfect kettle
If you are despairing of finding a well made kettle, having been disappointed by the usual big brand names selling Chinese made tat at European made prices, this is the answer. I admit to being slightly dubious of the idea of Italian electrical goods but apparently the electrical components are made in Germany and the rest is very nicely made. In use it's easily filled, not too noisy and pours superbly. The company were very pleasant to deal with. The capacity is quite high and I can imagine that some more elderly people would find it a little heavy when full, but of course it's simple enough to only fill it as far as you need (and cheaper!)My only suggestion would be for a slightly softer feeling plastic in the handle (or better, wood) but that's nit picking - I hope Ottoni Fabbrica continue providing decent European made kettles for a long time to come; it's a pity nobody seems able to do it in Britain.

Old fashioned quality for long term ownership and therefore excellent value for money
Bought this product in 2017. It is a beautiful looking and solidly constructed kettle, as it should be for the money. Fast forward to October 2020 and the element in the kettle has burned out. Extremely disappointing that this kettle hasn't lasted beyond 3 years.
