The book and the workbook don't have the answers in either book! You have to get the instructors manual and you CAN'T anymore. That is a rip off! If you can, then I stand corrected, but I have looked all over and can't seem to find it.

This is a must have book for anyone in the field of medical coding I love this book and I truly needed this book its the best!!!

Between work, going back to school, and helping raise three kids time is the most precious resource that I have. This book seeks to waste as much of it as possible. For a textbook that is used in college level courses I find it to be poorly organized and at times unprofessional. Granted there is turmoil in the coding field caused by the delay of the implementation of ICD-10-CM/PCS. However, how the author covers this discussion between ICD-9 and ICD-10 it is unclear at times which classification is being discussed. Additionally, the answers to various quiz questions are not in the back of the book, like most of the other texts. They are only given in the instructor’s manual. In today’s 24/7 environment how is this functional? I am taking this course online, and given my work/life schedule I am not very keen about wasting time and emailing my instructor to see if I am answering the questions correctly. Finally, the author’s disdain for ICD-9 and the failure of ICD-10 from being implemented is readily apparent and eventually wears thin. It is time to move on.

great book. lots of rules and guidlines and teaches you the basics of coding. a must have book for learning to code.
