Yuri!!! On Ice - The Complete Series [DVD + Blu-ray] [2018]

Yuri On Ice is absolutely fantastic in every way shape and form!! :)From the characters to the plot to the slow burn romance to the costumes to the absolutely divine music and the hilarious moments between the skaters, it's a true masterpiece.This set contains the DVDs and the Blu Ray editions, and both come with frankly gorgeous artwork on the dvd covers...however my one and only bug bear is that there is added Bonuses on the Blu Ray, but none on the DVDs! (Sob!) Although...you can watch the extra skate on Youtube, which I did and it is well worth checking out just for the surrealism of watching Yurio skate to Welcome to the Madness!All of the characters (apart from JJ, I found him incredibly irritating!!) were likeable/loveable and the portrayal of Yuri slowly growing in confidence and learning to become less anxious is a real joy to watch and by the end of the series when the final competition is going on, you really do feel like you're in the audience with them, sitting on the edge of your seat ready to cheer for your favourite skater, which I absolutely loved!I also really liked the quiet, tender relationship between Yuri and his coach Victor (who is on a par with Yuri on my favourite characters because he's kind, funny and obviously very talented!) and the frankly adorable moments you get when you see them together, not to mention the wonderfulness that is the end of episode 12...oh I just sob like a baby every single time I watch that skate!! No spoilers, but go watch it and you'll see what I mean.On the subject of skating....My God, is this phenomenal, they've got it down to a fine art that is quite simply divine.This anime never fails to cheer me up on a gloomy day, lifting my spirits and making me laugh, cry and cheer in every single episode! :)So all I can say is, destined for victory? Absolutely in my book!!

I love this series. I've watched it too many times. So I decided to buy the Blu-ray. The set is 2 DVD's and 2 Blu-ray's, only the Blu-ray's have the extras. Quality is very good, box is nice.So why did I knock off 1 star?The main issue is the sound. Only the English audio have 5.1. Japanese audio is 2.0, why? Victor in English is so bad. I hate dubbing.Not so important issue but annoying is the opening. For some reason they decided to skip 1st opening that is slightly different form the 2nd to 10th ones.Still, recommended

One of the most beautiful shows i have ever seen.I have been waiting for this for so long and forgot to write a review so here it is.This show is fantastic it truly made me appreciate the art of Figure skating and the beauty behind it.The blu ray is wonderful quality and is a sight to be seen.I know this genre isnt for everyone but open your mind its great and its not what you think.Definitely worth getting.

and we're getting a second season to, I can only hope that the second series is as good as the first.The animation is totally on point with this series. you can tell they went the extra mile. if your a fan of figure skating them you'll know what I mean.The music really add's to the series and you find yourself getting more and more into the series as it builds up to the grand final.I can't stress enough about the animation, especially for the figure skating scenes, they really went all out and the care and attention to detail really show's.all in all a brilliant series worthy of the hype :)

I watched this series when going through a stressful time at work. It's just lovely to watch a drama when the real conflict is in the hero's head, and not with others (in any real sense, although Yurio could be pretty horrible at times). Yes, perhaps the m/m the romance could have been more patently drawn, and I can see why there are issues with it not being so (in any show with hetero main characters the kiss would have been shown). But at its heart it is a show about a man who, with love and encouragement, discovers he's better than he thinks he is and grows in confidence, and that is wonderful to see.
