I would recommend this, at least for while you are trying to narrow down allergies. My dog is allergic to beef. We believe he is allergic to something else too. He itches and licks, a lot! He has been on this food for about a year now and the itching has almost gone away. He likes the food, but doesn't get super excited for it. He loves eating though.

We have a German Short hair, 8 years old on Jan, 1st 2016. We have been feeding her Purina Sport for her whole life. Last Spring she suddenly had allergies for the first time in her life. We took her to the vet 6 or 7 times over the summer, spent $3,000 on her because she was extremely itchy, lost giant patches of her fur. Because of the itching she got numerous bacteria infections on/in her skin, twice she had a yeast infection in her eye and on her skin. She was on steroids, antibiotics, and we were told to give her 2-Benedryl 3 times a day (45 lb dog). But whenever the antibiotics were done it would come right back. We honestly couldn't believe that it was a food allergy, it was the same food she's been eating as a pup! But when she was still itchy in December (we live in Wisconsin) we knew it was time to switch her food. This was the first food we tried.We STILL cannot believe the difference in this dog. She doesn't itch anymore and we no longer give her Benedryl. Before the food change she never wanted to play, she always seemed mopey, but she's an older dog. We always had a hard time getting her to eat. Sometimes she would go days without eating, she's always been that way. Her hair was coarse and stiff (she's my first GSP, I didn't know any different).After the food change, she jumps out of bed every morning. She provokes our younger dog to play with her now. She's ridiculously excited about meal time now, so much so that if we forget to feed her she's in our face whining about it! She acts like she's 4 years old again, and if you know a GSP you know how hyper they are when they are 4 years old! And her hair, it's so smooth and soft!And, we could never keep weight on her, partially because she didn't eat every meal, but when she would eat she would eat 2 cups 2 times a day. Now she eats 1 cup 2 times a day and she is at a healthy steady weight. I HIGHLY recommend this food for all dogs. Regardless of allergy issues. It's and all around healthy natural dog food at a reasonable price!

The bag is about expired and he will not eat it.Ordered a small bag to see if our Pure Breed Border Collie would eat and if any problems.It is currently mixed in at about 10% (1.5oz) and even that he turns up his nose but will eat the rest of the food. He is a chow hound and will eat about anything including things you would not expect, but not this food!Will try to pick around it and leaves a few kernels in the dish.Dry he will not touch it, it is served wet with other dry food, a verity of fresh meat, fish and veggies!Will just be a lesson learned and toss out the rest of the bag as it will expire soon anyway!

Both our lab and very picky German Shepard love it. It doesn’t give the GS tummy troubles or diarrhea either like most dog foods. It does smell strongly like fish which is part of what I believe they like. Finally glad to find a dog food my picky GSD will eat and doesn’t upset his tummy.

I have a 3.5 year old Lhasa-poo named Milo who has problems with ear infections and bites the hairs off his back paws. I've done a lot of research on dog food and wanted to go grain-free plus having the simplest, holistic ingredients possible. Also I wanted to give him something that wasn't poultry or beef. The options I had were slim either due to the cost or what ingredients were in the food. Even though I couldn't find many reviews on this product (since it's fairly new), I got it anyways. And I'm happy that I did because less than two weeks that Milo has been eating this food he stopped biting his paws and the hair has grown back on them. His ears look and smell way better! Plus he's shaking his head less...what a relief! :) Milo seems to be happier and acts more like a pup! I'll be sticking with this dog food for a while even though it has a very strong fishy smell when you open the bag but that's the least of my worries.P.S. My husband and I would always leave food in his dish because he never ate any of his old food in one sitting but now with this food he will eat the whole bag in one sitting if we let him ;) And I have to mention his bathroom breaks for #2 is less often and they're more firm.

I had searched for a really nutritious dog food for our fur babies, 2 mini dachshunds age 10 and 12. They were starting to not be as active and Bella was having both digestive issues and also skin issues. The doctor wanted to put her on a shot that was every 8 weeks but my research said to try to find a better dog food. I learned about Holistic Natural Dog Food and was so glad I could get it through Amazon. Our little girls have been healthier that ever and more alert and playful. Bella's digestive problems and skin irritation, that made her miserable, have completely cleared up. It is wonderful to see both dogs feeling good and enjoying life. I'm so thankful for this good quality food. I wish more people knew about you.

I don't usually leave reviews for things, but this product is too great not to share! We have a Westie puppy who was incredibly itchy and kept an ear infection before he got on this food. We tried different foods and variations of ingredients, and this grain free with fish protein is the only thing that has worked! He no longer flakey skin, has a beautifully thick coat, and is ear infection free! We noticed he was less itchy within 2 weeks of starting this food! (We also add Omega 3 oils to his food each day for extra vitamins) He gobbles down this food, and we've even used it as 'treats' when training. The smell when you first open the bag is kinda strong, but we don't smell it in the house or while he's eating. A 24 lb. bag lasts us over 2 months, and our boy is an eater! We LOVE this food! Excellent quality and health benefits, and must taste good because our boy loves it! :)

Our puppy once had no appetite to eat her kibbles. So decided to do some research on good quality food and switch to better option for her. So far, no disappointment because our puppy's appetite has come back ever since we mix the old and new food for her.

Dog food was over expiration date. Didn't notice till after I added it to existing dog food bucket.
