I am disappointed.
I bought this unit in January 2022. I decided to give it a try after getting tired of constantly plucking the offensive hair that has begun growing on my chin. At first I let the unit auto select the level it sensed for my skin. I used it religiously every six weeks for the first year. No change but I will admit, here and there I was still plucking. I reread the instructions to try to figure out why it possibly wasn't making any difference and switched to shaving the area I wanted to remove the hair from. I also changed the setting to the max and began working the area once a week. After it was apparent that wasn't making a difference either, at the start of this year I changed the frequency to every other day. Maybe it's just my unit or maybe I have super folicles, there has been no change over the two years and four months I've been using it. Pondering giving up.

It really does work!
The silk n go is way less expensive than and not as harsh on your skin than regular hair removal systems.

Works well
I’ve been using this since October and am in the maintenance phase. I shave once every week and a half or so and it’s barely there, fine hair. I’m very pleased, I used to have to shave everyday to maintain smooth legs and underarms.

I have some experience with at home IPL: initial impressions
This is my 2nd at home permanent hair removal device. My first is a Luma RX IPL6800 which at the time of this review is in the area of $340 and is about 5 years old. At home devices are understandably not as powerful as a clincal device, so one needs to have the right conditions (the lighter the skin and darker the hair, which I have, they say is the easiest). You also have to have a lot of patience, this takes a lot of time- not only because the exposure windows are very small on these devices, but also because it's going to take a LOT of sessions over many weeks to get results, and you may even have to do touch up treatments. This is NOT an instant gratification device. I have over time easily removed hair from small areas like underarms and have been successful, it was not until someone in the cosmetic industry encouraged me to do so did I start taking on the tedious task of doing my legs. I was offered this Silk'n Flash & Go Pro to try and I thought I would see what a smaller device like this could do, since I've only used it one session so far (I'll let it take over the task with my legs for now) these are my initial impressions:At the time of this writing the Silk'n is in the area of $272. Now if it does its job like it says (and again, right condtions and over a long period of time/sessions), personally I think that's a small price to pay for no more shaving, buying of razors/creams/foams and etc. When I got the box the packaging appearance looked a lot like my LumaRx with all its claims and illustrations but what I was nicely surprised with is that it has it's own zippered case (my more expensive Luma stays in the box it came in). I noticed the Silk'n is an HPL device while my Luma is an IPL, I only mention this as a difference but I couldn't find anywhere on the internet that indicated if there is any real comparision between the two. My Luma has a base where it gets its power, this device is just a wand with its cord. This may indicate a few things- this device will be easier to use, lighter and more portable, it also might indicate it's less powerful (remains to be seen but more on that later). This device has 5 levels of power, the instructions say that it also has a complexion measurer built in to the wand so if it detects too dark of skin it will automatically back power down if you were at 3, 4 or 5, down to 2. The wand is quick on recharge and visually operates like my other device (you can still see some of the flash).OLD DEVICE: I may be rather tougher than some as I have had tattoos and I have had clinical lasers used on my legs which some may say hurt but I say are just an irritant. I use my other device at a level 5 (top level) and it does snap like a rubber band (for me not so much but I can feel it) and it makes the skin warm and a bit after use cause a little redness in the folicle areas (like small red dots that go away after a couple hours for me). Also if I missed a hair shaving my old device will singe it and you can smell the burnt hair.THIS DEVICE is quick on the reflash, so the charge time is impressive I was able to move the wand faster through my entire session with it where my other device starts to heat up and take longer between pulses by the end. What I liked about it as well is that with my other device I had to wait for it to beep at me indicating that it was pressed correctly against the skin and then push a buttonfor the flash where with this wand as long as it's pressed correctly it will just continue to flash as you move along- much more convenient. What might concern me some at level 5 other than a bit of warmness which lasted only a few seconds, I didn't feel much from it- that's not to say that it won't still do it's job- however- it might indicate it's not as powerful as some and may take longer to get the results you want. Or like I said, the technology could be so improved that we don't have to be uncomfortable with it- AND it will be better for those who can't handle that "rubber band snap". I did notice that this device boasts lifetime flashes seemingly saying that you'll never have to buy a "refill" bulb (which I will eventually with my other machine) so those many sessions that it might take won't cost you more.So for now I'm reserving judgement. In order to review it properly I will have to return after further sessions and indicate whether I am seeing improvement in my hair removal journey. Going based on my experience with at home hair removal devices: As far as pricepoint, ease of use and portability, lifetime flashes, and initial quality inspection it seems like a very nice device so I am leaving it a 5 star for now, I will return if it doesn't live up to its promise.

Great Gift To Myself
I've had laser hair removal before. This item does the same thing for a lot less money. Bought it after Christmas for myself. I can use it for touch ups whenever needed and save a ton of money. Very easy to use and hold in your hand. I use my sunglasses while using the machine. It is not uncomfortable as it has 5 settings depending on how much intensity you want. I recommend reading all information given in the description before buying as this machine is not made for all skin colors and hair colors. No more shaving.
