Il lungo tramonto dei Dead
Buon sampler del periodo finale dell'epopea dei Dead terminato nel '95 con la morte del leader Jerry Garcia, presenta l'unico singolo finito nella top ten touch of grey, manca pero' almeno un brano live, in cui i Dead eccellevano con torrenziali jams, c'era da pescare in un vasto repertorio live fra cui l'eccezionale triplo without net uno dei loro migliori, o nell'appena pubblicato live al JFK del tour '89. Mi ha colpito la presenza di black muddy river di cui nelle note viene ricordata l'ultima esecuzione di Jerry ormai sfinito al Soldier Field del luglio '95', sarebbe morto i primi di agosto, Gregg Allman ne ha registrato una toccante versione nel suo ultimo album uscito postumo! Coincidenze!?
