Can’t live without them
Excellent screws. Great grabbing power. Won’t split the wood so no need to pre-drill holes.

A must for Hardie Cement Siding install and DaVinci Roofing
Great for installing James Hardie lap siding and trim. Just completed a major remodel and reroof project. I found these screws to be the perfect solution. First all of the roofing hip, ridges, and rake tiles where an exposed fastener was required I used these. Holds composite shingles great and does not pull through. The secret is the double lock thread. I used the 3 1/2" screws on the vented ridge in order to get the length needed. For the cement siding, everywhere you cannot hide the fastener, i.e. 1x6 trim, face screwed siding, soffit, and fascia use these. Holds cement board great and the nibs under the head help them sit flush. Can be left bare or painted to match the trim. We installed all of the siding with screws, which made the install process easy, and allowed for corrections where the siding needed to be shimmed due to bows in the wall and around window nail flanges.

More than just a deck screw
These are the best design of screws I have ever used for forcing warped deck boards down on to joists. But they have another great application that isn't mentioned. Attaching bowed sheets of plywood to rafters. Roof sheathing is often 1/2 or 5/8" plywood and it can can bow if stored outside. These screws are very effective at forcing the plywood flat to rest firmly on the rafters. Way better than other screws or nails.

Very good. Safety Issues: threads are too sharp, need to wear gloves to prevent cutting fingers
The longer screw is the SPAX screw with the double thread design. The shorter one is the Hillsmans Deck Plus screw.Th Spax screws are either made in USA or Germany which came as a pleasant surprise; which is the most preferred choice for screws. The screw has a square drive which is good but the Torx can take a much higher torque; but I did not had any issues driving either screws into cedar pickets and treated pine 2x4. I like the Deck Plus design of the Deck Plus screws since it has less chance of shearing the head. Since this screw is stainless steel which is significantly softer than Alloy steel; that may not be an issue. The advantage of stainless steel is corrosion resistance for a slightly lower strength. The Hillsmans Deck Plus #8x1-5/8" screws are made in Taiwan; my assumption is that it may be better than the ones coming out of mainland China. Generally Chinese hardware quality is not that reliable since there are serious issues with material quality. Screws made in USA , Germany and few other European countries are much higher quality. For Industrial applications the preferred choice for screws are from UNBRAKO but they don't make these types of screws and they are extremely expensive; but you are paying for quality.

Great Deck Screws
Very good deck screws for the money. I live near the coast, and I've found out the hard way that even the best non-stainless screws will eventually fail. Like other people have mentioned, just be careful when driving these so that you don't strip out the head; I didn't find this to be a problem unless I failed to do my part correctly.

Good and bad points for these stainless steel deck screws
These are good in theory, but they strip and/or break more easily than other steel screws. That is the downside of stainless steel. If you pre drill the holes, you will have better luck. I haven't tested these for long term results, but it's pretty likely they won't rust. So if you pre drill, a 3/32 or maybe a 1/8 drill bit will work.

Pulls wood pieces together.
Nice, really pulls wood together. Smooth gap reduces squeaks.

These are very good
I loved these screws, and I love that they hold wood super tight from the the way the threads are. I dislike screws that are threadless near the head. These screws went in easy, really bit into the wood and over all were great. Only wish they had been a little cheaper.

Absolutely brilliant for MDF!
Yes, it seems pricy when you only buy 84 pcs at a time, but these screws are fantastic for joining MDF boards. Definitely pre-drill, and when you do that right there are no problems with cracked boards and the joints are tight and solid. Haven't seen anything better than these screws for that purpose!

Good screws for the price
These would be a 5 stars if they were a bit less brittle at the head. A few crammed out while joining pressure treated 2x4 s. Not bad for the price. Very sharp points.
