Very well organized
I thought it might be excessive purchasing this after already using the McGraw Hill Big Green Book of Italian Verbs 555 which is also an excellent book. The prints just a bit smaller than the Big Green, but it's an excellent book. I like the appendices and the vocabulary insets which accompany the examples. The conjugation explanations in the Big Green are more thorough, but I have to say I like the compact presentation of the conjugation explanations (present, past, etc) in this book. I doubt I'll ever learn every little variation; so it's nice to have a smaller target to work on.The 55 most common verbs are pretty close to the 50 most common in Big Green. However, there are different verbs in the 501 than in the 555 so there's a lot to be gained by having both books as one previous reviewer pointed out.I also have some other grammar books and find that in doing exercises and reading examples a great amount of vocabulary is retained. This is just one more example of this. Not only do you get the verbs, but also a full range of vocabulary.I recommend having both books.

Quite Acceptable on the Kindle Fire
In spite of the dire warnings by most reviewers, I decided to order the Kindkle version of this great book because, in my experience, even very small print is quite readable on the Kindle Fire, as a result of the intense contrast between the very dark, very well-formed letters and the luminous white background. My guess proved correct, as I can read the one-page list of the conjugated forms without difficulty, on the Fire. On the other hand, on my Kindle Touch, the lists are virtually illegible with the naked eye. However, even on the Kindle Touch, the text comes out very bold and very well-formed in the electronic ink, so that, if you use a magnifying glass, you can read the lists without any difficulty.I gave this ebook 5 stars because of its quality: the one-page lists are great for making comparisons and for overall review. Moreover, the authors' comments and explanations, all of them in large print in the Kindle version [for a welcome change], are invaluable. As an added bonus, to my knowledge, this is the only book on Italian verbs that provides the whole conjugation of "andarsene," which, as you may know, is an extremely common and useful verb in everyday Italian but is very tricky for students, who generally have great difficulty using and placing the reflexive forms and the adverbial particle [ne] correctly, especially in the negative and in the imperative. Finally, I want to comment on the statement by one of the reviewers, in the sense that you can't access the conjugations on this Kindle version unless you turn over the pages one by one. This is an incorrect and misleading statement. This Kindle version has a Table of Contents (in blue on the Fire) from where you can directly access any verb you choose. To sum up, if you have a Kindle Fire, don't pass up this great book in its Kindle version. Moreover, if you don't mind carrying a magnifying glass with you, you'll be able to use this Kindle version, as a reference, also on the Kindle Touch.

Great for Reference and information
Though the book was a bit bent, it was barely even noticeable once you start reading it. the use of the tenses is explained well, and it comes with a section on Italian sayings and other phrases useful to someone beggining to learn italian that some dictionaries would lack, aswell as sample sentences of the use of every verb in everyday life. overall, it was great! i reccomend it to anyone beggining to learn italian or one who already speaks it but wants to improve their verb vocabulary.

Super Reference Verb Book
This I purchased due to the successful results of using the Barron's 501 Spanish Verbs. When I was picking out books to buy in order to study Italian, I immediately chose the Barron's 501 Italian Verbs. Since it is difficult for me to retain the basics of a new language this becomes a great verb reference book. And don't forget to read the opening 15 pages which are a great summary of verbs.

Kindle edition is useless
I loved this in "book" form, so I thought I would buy it for my Kindle as well. However, when it was delivered to my Kindle Global, I found 2 major flaws. While the "text" is legible, the font of the verb tables is so small that you cannot even read it with a magnifying glass, and increasing the font on the Kindle does not affect it. Also, you cannot "search" for anything in this book, so it is impossible to find a verb without paging through one page at a time. This makes the Kindle edition totally useless. I don't know if it is any better on the larger screen Kindle, but for the current "Global" Kindle it does not work.

Really Good Aid To Learning Italian Verbs
Firstly, can I say that I cannot understand the review that says, as a criticism, that all the book consists of is a list of conjugated verbs when the book tells you on the cover that is exactly what it is. Dealing with the same review, if I wanted a source of great inspiration or understanding I would not expect to find it in a book of verbs. Sorry to pick on one review but I do feel that it skews the overall rating quite unfairly. In my opinion the book is excellent. I have been learning Italian for many years and it is still the first book I pick up to help me ensure that I am using verbs correctly and unfortunately I need to do this quite often. I had the previous edition and now I have bought this latest version. It is even better as it brings together the various uses of the tenses and the way in which each tense is conjugated. In the previous edition the two aspects were included but in separate sections. It is better presented as use has been made of colour which is more reader friendly. It highlights 55 essential verbs and to my mind the book is worth buying if only for that as it makes me focus on getting these verbs, in particular, correct. Then, in addition to the 501 fully conjugated verbs it lists another 1500, yes 1500, and each one is cross referenced to a fully conjugated verb in the book so that you can then apply that conjugation to the 1500 in the list. So, for not a lot of money you have the capability of ensuring that you are dealing correctly with 2001 Italian verbs. The book also has small sections on miscellaneous grammar. Some people are gifted when it comes to languages. They will have no need of this book. But for the rest of us who struggle to learn the verbs in the first instance and then, with the passing of time, need to check them the book is invaluable. I have many Italian grammar books and this is the one I consult most frequently.

このシリーズはお気に入りです
一つの動詞に1ページを使って、動詞の活用形を示してくれるのと、活用法の例などがまとめてあって重宝します。語学を始めたばかりの時は、表を眺めるだけでもよかったです。少し慣れてきた今は、活用形が分からなくなってしまった時の確認に使っています。

Excellent language tool!
I recently bought this book as I am doing an Italian language course at college. This book is excellent. I have not used the CD yet but the verb tables are very helpful. It shows in clear alphabetical order exactly how to conjugate all of the main verbs both regular and irregular. It shows all tenses for the same verb on one page so is extremely easy to follow. It was also delivered quickly and in perfect condition. It is so good that I also bought the Spanish version for when my Daughter starts Spanish soon. If I had used one of these when I was learning languages at school it would have made them much easier to learn! I highly recommend this book. It is not pocket size but then I use it at home rather than taking it to class so that does not bother me.

Wonderful but Kindle needs to be able to enlarge ALL fonts
I needed this book on my Kindle and it is wonderful and just what I need..BUT as with a lot of Kindle books, a lot of the font sizes in tables or quotes cannot be made larger and also if they were not tiny and in pale grey, it would be easier to read them. I have a magnifying glass but would rather be able to read some of the text which contains the actual Italian Verbs. Just posting this in the hope that an update for the book with the ability to enlarge ALL the text might one day be available to update the book.. However, still a really useful tool for my studies and I am still so pleased books have become so much more portable Also there is no mention of how I access the free CD which comes with the paperback version but I may have missed information for that?
