11408 1 3/4" Diesel Auxiliary Install Kit

2019 Ram 2500
I installed this on a 2019 mega cab. The reason for the 3 stars is the hardware included in the kit. The fuel line hose was folded causing kits that I was able to get out pretty easily by warming up with a heat gun for a few seconds. The worm gear clamps for the T adapter were just a tad too small in my opinion and could have been better quality, but I had a few lying around my shop to compensate and avoid frustration in the tighter spots of the install. I personally did not cut the filler neck at all. It will make most feel a little uncomfortable, but I opted for cutting the hose that feeds the main tank. I cut back this hose and used a heater hose that already had a 50-70 degree bend in it to make the connection to the filler neck. Basically filler neck - pre bent heater hose - T - cut back factory tank hose. I did this for two main reasons. I didn’t want metal shavings in my main tank and I figured the factory tank hose was much cheaper to replace if I screwed it all up. This method puts the T much much closer to the main tank and does not crimp lot restrict the factory main tank hose in any way, rendering filling through the normal filler neck a normal operation with high flow nozzles. Yes, it’s a little tight to get in there, but to me it was worth it. The T and roll over valve is all you’re really buying anyway. Why pay more for the same basic parts. Yes, the valve is cheap. Just make sure you use fuel rated thread dope and all will be fine. Also, I have a black tank, so when the sun hits it causing a pressure increase, fuel will slowly drip out of the factory vent at a rate of a drop every 30 seconds when leaving the valve open 24/7. The solution to this—- turn the tank valve off unless you’re taking a trip or actively filling the main tank when sitting still. My advise, don’t overthink buying this.

JUST AS NICE AT HALF THE PRICE
Half the price as some of the other brands. Looks identical. Probably is. This kit works flawless. Easy to install. I didnt follow directions exactly. I removed the filler neck form the truck completely. It was easier to just cut a section out of the metal filler tube. By completely removing from the truck and clamping it in the vice. Using the "T" I marked the filler tube. Then I used a sawzall to cut out exactly the same length of the "T". This allows you to clean up and remove all metal shavings and debur sharp edges. Loosely reassemble all parts. Reinstall. Clock the "T" then tighten all clamps. I used a uni-bit/step bit to drill hole in bed for gravity transfer line. Took about 2 hours. Highly recommend.

Don't over tighten the clamps and have good blades to cut pipe
Had everything needed the clamps could have been a better quality but overall a good kit would buy again if needed with a little know how not hard to install

Worked better than expected.
Was a pain to install but worked out great. I removed the fuel hose from the tank connection to the filler neck pipe then cut it as needed to fit the kit pipe. It was not easy to reinstall since the space above the main fuel tank is limited. Afterwards the system worked great but it took a few hours for the entire tank to drain into the main tank. I've left the ball valve open between the aux tank for hours but it never overflowed the main tank. I could leave it open while driving and it kept up with fuel flow from the main tank. This addition really helped on the road to avoid the high priced truck stop fuel.

Save money and buy this...
Same parts as the name brand for half the cost. I have no problem with leaking valve like others have stated.

Measure your fill tube before placing order.
I ordered this auxiliary fuel tank installation kit to replace another I'm returning. There was no size description in the first order. I found it didn't fit and reordered another kit by size.

Made perfectly for the truck that it was made for.
Liked everything about it. Used it to hook up an extra fuel tank in my truck.

Easy install, works well.
Very easy install on a 16 Ram 3500. Remove the factory fill tube from the tank side, 3 screws on the fuel door and it came out. Works well, no leaks and easy to use.It fills slow as gravity feed, I have worried that it wont fill fast enough when I'm running fully loaded but I have not had an issue yet with it. I may add a pump later if it becomes an issue.
