Wave Bandit Ben Gravy Performer, 6'0 , White

I'm working on moving down from fun-sized boards and the high volume of this fish has been the ticket.I DO HAVE ONE ISSUE:After leaving in my car in California, air expanded within the board and separated the inner layer from the outer layer. Basically, there's a bulging air pocket on the right rail now. I am very careful not to leave in the car now, but this bulge continues to grow in normal outdoor temps in the shade (90-100F). It's a bit annoying but I won't ding a star because technically speaking I don't think it impacts surfability.

48 YO last month. I've been surfing longer boards like ~7'4" funshapes forever. Since late 90's weight lifting pushed my mass from 175 range to 190-200 range @ 5'10". I remained at around that weight until last year. Keto and lifestyle change... meaning less cold beer on the weekend quickly got me back down to 175. All the sudden it seemed like I was in my 20's again physically on a wave. Less drag, more push and easier popups. Figured I'd sell a longboard that rarely used for a Ben Gravy soft top.It is certainly smaller than anything I've surfed. And honestly, I have not had really good surf in the last 3 weeks, but can tell it will be real fun.1) For my average frame and weight right now it feels super balanced. Just paddling it feels like an extension of the body. Floats and paddles great. That includes into a wave. A previous 6"4" expoxy fish I bought a few years back was weird. Something about it made it impossible to catch a wave. Maybe I was just too heavy at the time.2) For some strange reason because I don't surf every day perhaps, when I do, I'd have what felt like sternum bruising after a session. And if the waves lasted a few days, it was awfully painful those following days. Soft top feels goodie on the tummy and titties. LOL. Basically with the balance and paddle + soft top makes the whole important paddling part of surfing more of a pleasure now. And since the board is so short, I can duck dive much better. Hard to do on a 8' board. Figure this will help in head high surf.3) The handful of waves caught give me high hopes when the surf turns on next time. Feels great. So much looser than this 8'0" funshape/fish hybrid or my older 7'4" funshape. And the speed, even on a smallish waist high wave was good.4) Honestly not tried many softtops. I bought a california board company one at BJs, but it was a longboard. This seems stiffer like it is a old school glassed board with soft topper. Saw some cheaper. Not sure about quality. If this holds up for 5 years, I'll be very happy. If it starts to degrade after hurricane season, a bit on the pricey side.So far I'm happy. Actually saw two other Gravy softops on Oak Island, NC over the 4th, so they are popular. I'm happy just to support Ben Gravy too. His videos have got me surfing more crappy waves whereas prior I'd only surf the more periodic tropical swells. Heck I just went out in strong onshore wind, blown out conditions raining hard just to drop in on a few with size.
