The best of the 12 inch Ghostbusters by far.
Mattel had some problems with the previous Ghostbusters figures in the 12 inch scale. Ray's head size was ridiculous, Peter had paint issues, and Egon's glasses were just a tad too thick. So we were down to Winston, wondering what they'd screw up on, since he looked perfect in the prototype pictures, but the final products are almost always different. Low and behold, Winston is the best one! The figure looks -exactly- as it does in stock pictures, and the head sculpt is perfect. If you haven't gotten a 12 inch Ghostbusters figure yet, you gotta get Winston if only so you're not disappointed with the quality. If you own any of the previous figures, Winston is essentially the same as far as the outfit and accessories go. He comes with the standard jumpsuit with all the pockets, zipper pulls and everything, as well as the Zeddemore and No Ghosts logo patches. These seem like they're iron-on transfers, so be careful adjusting the outfit in the areas where they are. The Proton Pack looks fantastic and you couldn't ask for much more attention to detail on it unless you wanted it made of metal like in the movie. There's a button on the bottom of the pack that activates 4 red LEDs when pressed, and the lights go in a clockwise formation for a few seconds. It's really cool. The wand/gun looks great too, though you might have trouble getting it into the hands because of how thick the handle is. Regardless, the outfit and accessories are all great, and for the original price this figure went for, it's a steal considering some other companies *coughSideshowandMedicomcough* charge much more for similar products, with the quality being 50/50.So how's the head and body? Well, the head sculpt is perfect, and there's no denying that it's Ernie Hudson. Unfortunately, the paint on the face is a bit washed out. My Winston's eyebrows were a bit light, and even a bit crooked. And the whites in the eyes had some brown paint dabs here and there. Still, it's not like I was expecting a Hot Toys quality figure, and I'm happy with what I got for my money. The body's well-articulated too, with articulation in the neck, shoulders, chest, abdomen, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees, and ankles. Winston's accessories include a set of ungloved hands (with articulation in them so you can bend them forward and back), a ghost trap that opens when you press a red button on it, two copies of the building blueprints (these are printed on standard paper), the standard walkie talkie, and a newspaper (plastic) that features the ad for the job when he went in for his interview. He's set.Aside from the slightly sloppy job on the paint, I only have a few minor complaints. First is the packaging he comes in. I love the locker for his accessories, and it slides out easily, but the rest of the packaging is a nightmare. Getting close to opening the box, only to find out there's even more tape in other areas was frustrating, and chances are that you'll be destroying a small part of it during the opening process. The other thing is the zipper pulls on his uniform are just sewn on- there aren't any actual zippers. Again, this isn't a Hot Toys figure, so we can't expect what's basically a real outfit shrunk down, but some collectors might be irked. If you haven't gotten Winston yet, you better hurry before he goes for insane prices like Egon and Ray do now. BUT, there is a Ghostbusters 2 version set for February. It's a two pack with Peter, and I'm sure they'll both be similar to these first movie figures, just with different outfits and accessories. Either way, you need Winston!

Ghostbuster figures
Keeping my Winston figure boxed, but his equipment and uniform look nice for the price point.

12 inch movie masters Winston
Quite the amazing likeness to Ernie Hudson, couldn't have asked for a better looking figure for the line. Any Ghostbusters Collector must have one for his collection.
