Purely personal and maybe my view is not the target of the readers but I find "contrived" dishes with food ever so daintily stacked, ready like the Tower of Babel to fall over at the first touch of a fork not to be my preference. Almost all the "old" San Francisco standbys like Tadich and Sams who serve a very perfect slab of fish with some fresh potatoes and parsley and maybe a side salad of shrimp and greens with ever so fresh sour French bread is just fine. Of course you wouldn't expect much different from someone who used to eat at Jack's almost every day.

GREAT purchase for foodies
If you are a visitor to SF or live here (like I do) this book is very informative on finding really good food in a concise friendly book. This is worth the price if it helps you avoid even one bad, costly meal - which is easy to find in SF or any city.

Purchased this as a replacement for Zagat, which has not published a 2015 restaurant guide. Not as consumer friendly or as helpful to me as Zagat.

I am a fan of Michelin rated restaurants, hardly you go wrong. It has always amuse me where do they find this restaurants. Some of them really are hidden gems. It woulb be nice if the book also has some info or any supplement in what parameters they evaluate. It will be nice also to know who is the people behind the ratings. How to belong to that secret society of reviewers. More history would be nice. The sistem of classification could be a little confused. Although I understand a Michelin 1, 2 , 3 star. It will be nice to use another nomenglature for those Michelin recommended, who has not accomplished stars. The gourmet classification should be not excluded, more inclusive. It is not quite clear to me where, how they can jump or classified from Michelin recommended to Michelin star.I wish there was a truly useful app from Michelin. Something mobile and practical. The kindle version is just akward, difficult to navigate, in short pretty much useless.
