Reads the temperature quickly! I love it so much I bought two.

This is my third thermometer of this type. They last forever, wear well, and are always accurate.

I purchased this thermometer in the Fall of 2014 for the kitchen job I had, but it finally has come to the end of its life...almost. Held up fairly well for the amount of times it’s been dropped, stuck in a 350-400 degree oven, accidentally broke a battery connector in half, dipped in water to clean. It was definitely water resistant, but the Waterproofing plastic over the on/off button has recently started to chip away, so it’s gets liquids up in it fairly easily. Even then you just have to let it dry out some and it works. I just bought a replacement to have on hand when this one finally goes, but it could be years.

I do not own a "Thermapen" and unless gifted one I'm sure I never will. This thermometer is accurate, FAST, and sharp too! This first time I removed it from its protective sheath I managed to stab my hand with it, OUCH! It works well even on thin meats such as hamberger patties, just be sure not to hold the unit over the fire because it will melt. Move whatever you're measuring off to the side first and you'll be fine. I purchased mainly for larger meats like roasts and brisket because over the years I've developed a pretty good "feel" for steaks and such. I did have to try it out on them of course just to see how well it worked and it does a good job but I can do as well by poking a steak with my finger in a much shorter time. At less than a third of the cost of a "Thermapen" this one is a keeper! At least ten times faster than the dial type bi-metal instant read thermometers available at the supermarket. Its easy to recalibrate if ever necessary and it will turn itself off if you forget to. No "Ooo Aaaah" factor like the $85 one but just as good in every other respect in my opinion.

I used this thermometer in my home brewing setup.THE GOOD:This thermometer has some great features, it is accurate, holds a reading and most importantly, it can be calibrated. This is key if you are trying to obtain accurate temperature readings like you do in home brewing. It comes with one battery as a spare, which is nice. The over protects the probe, but let air flow through, which is nice in case you want to read a liquid or air temp without worrying about poking something. The case also snaps into the top which then acts as a handle giving you more reach, so you don't have to expose yourself as much. The buttons are firm, but snap with a satisfying 'click'. The display displays "oFF" when it is off. Which is great, because it lets you know if the battery is dead if it has been sitting in a drawer for a while. Calibrating it is easy, all it takes is some ice water and following some simple directions. The thermometer will also reject readings that far off the mark, so in essence, it will not accept a false freezing point reading.THE BAD:This product is advertised as "waterproof", but it is not waterproof, it is water resistant. As part of any home brewing process, I had to place this thermometer in sanitizing solution between measurements. At the end of my brewing session, I left it overnight in the solution. The next day, the display was shot. I opened the battery case and water had gotten in there. Now, I realize this may seem picky, but the term "waterproof" really only has one meaning: water cannot get inside. This is the only reason I took off a star.THE VERDICT:Although this thermometer is not truly waterproof, and lasted me exactly one brewing session I will buy this product again. I will just be more careful about leaving it in liquids for extended periods of time. For the money, I feel it is actually a really good value. It is fast, accurate and compact. It can be calibrated and should be good for everyday use.

Bought few of these

I have had this thermometer for 6 years and it still works fine.I no longer get false readings as I did with other thermometers and complaints over over/under done food have disappered. I have had to replace the batteries a couple times which is very easy. This device is very easy to use, has very fast response, is accurate and leaves a very small hole where you take the reading. The plastic cover over the power butten is cracked but doesn't affect its operation. I would buy this thermometer again. A little off topic but if you are cooking meats etc.and want perfectly cooked food check out Sous Vide cooking/Anova. I now always have the perfect steak.

Love it. For me it’s an every dinner essential.

I am an agricultural professional and I been using this thermometer for the last month. It seems a bit pricy but after 5 different pocket thermometers, I would go whit this from the beginning. It has a fast reading display, you only need to use the tip of it to have a measurement. The product is NSF certified. Personally is the best product for what you pay. I have not tried to put it on the dishwasher, but I don't think is necessary to clean it.

This is 2nd Comark PDT300 that I've owned. I left the first one on the baking tray and melted it. However, this a a great food thermometer all the same and I know they are used in many pub kitchens. Quick & accurate readings make this instrument far superior to cheap thermometer. Recommended

I wore out my last one lasted me like 8 years. I'll keep buying these until they quit making them

This is my second one of these now only due to 2 years of use every day.It is a very compact unit with quick response time and a very small probe which makes it easy to get right into the middle of any food.Ive had other probes in the past and this one is by far the best ive had.
