Perfect
Just as discribed! Decent sized pieces but small enough to storage easily

Good for price…
Not heavy duty, not thick for sand, but better than nothing.

They help but break after a few uses still requires some shoveling plus pushing
I've used these 4 times in snow and once on ice with mixed results they seem to help in snow but they did not work on ice ( had to break and scrape the ice with a metal shovel(board would not lay completely flat) before they were left unusable and broken and the pieces thrown away. They do help get the cars unstuck from snow but usually not on the first try. Some amount of digging, repositioning them, pushing the car from behind are usually still required yet less digging and pushing than having no boards/ramps at all. Instinctively at first when trying them if gently pressing on the gas pedal initially doesn't get you out ( means you have to dig and reposition the board closer) the usual reaction by most people is to give it more gas ( I know I've done it and 2 other people that i was helping) which usually causes the tires to spin and the boards to shoot out from under the tires happened in every use luckily they shot and partially inserted in snow piles and didn't hit any people. Can imagine getting hit in the shins by one of them would be pretty painful so stay away from the front or back of the car if possible even though pushing the car from behind is pretty risky but is effective. Slow throttle acceleration + a small push from behind that's usually enough to catch on the ramps. They are small compared to other big recovery boards but the cheap price makes buying them next winter a maybe though would probably go with something flexible like rubber traction mats.

Get these before you neeed them....
I hope this is one of the things that you buy and never need. But if you are reading this review, chances are you live somewhere you might need them. And simply put, the day you need these, you will think that buying them was the best thing you ever did.FWIW: They work fantastically, are relatively small, fit behind the seat of your truck, or easily in the trunk of your car, and are easy to clean.

Didn't work today
I bought these in October 2018 and finally had a chance to use them today while helping a young mom who was stuck in front of the elementary school. She was driving a front wheel drive Toyota minivan. It had snowed about 8" several days ago and the snow plows pushed most of the snow to the side of the road. When she parked the car was facing a slight uphill slope and was on mostly ice with just a little snow on top. None of the wheels were buried in snow. After we tried to push the car out I remembered I had these in the trunk of my car. I placed them in front of her front tires and unfortunately she gunned the engine and they just flew back between the tire and ice.I asked her if I could drive it out and she said yes. I place the traction tool in front of both tires and slowly gave it some gas while I watched the driver's side front wheel. I watched as the tire gripped the traction tool and slowly pushed it out the back. The tool would not grip onto the ice.Maybe this will work if there was a little snow but after a half dozen tries with the same result we finally decided to just back the car down the hill where the road was drier.I'll keep it in my car since it's easy to pack and hopefully if I ever need it again it will work.

In a pinch
If you are looking for awesome, look somewhere else. If you are looking for functional just in case and only 2 or 3 times, it's a must have. So easy to get unstuck.

Handy, Easy to Store in Vehicle
Easy to use, works well to get vehicle rolling in less than ideal conditions. Save yourself a walk and tie a short (6') shock cord or tether to the grips and your vehicle. That way you don't have to walk back to retrieve them.

Not good on snowy black ice
Not for every situation

they actually work on ice, will break after 3-4 uses if using a pickup truck, maybe longer on cars
i was stuck 3 times this winter and with this yellow gizmo, i needed no help, love them!

Good product but cracks with use
Purchased in November 2019. I bought these because there is insane amounts of snow where I reside...getting stuck in the snow in the parking lot at work, in the driveway at home, or in other locations are frequent occurrences. I kept the traction tool in my trunk. I finally had the opportunity to use them in January while deeply stuck in my driveway, and while the traction tools did work, the tires on my car wound up severely cracking them and breaking off many of the little ridges. I kept them but I am unsure as to their efficiency for a 2nd use. However, due to their affordable price I absolutely would not mind buying them again for next winter!
