Let me start by saying that I am a professional musician, I've toured for years all over the globe and I'm somewhat of an "expert" when it comes to cases. Not that there is much to know, but I've been around long enough to have seen a lot of cases.I got this to replace a Guardian CG-010-MF Featherweight case for my Holoubek F5. I wanted something that was light, strong and affordable. I'd seen a few of these Superior cases at festivals and read a few good reviews on the Mandolin forums so I got one.I'm pleased to say that it is indeed a very nice little case. It fits my mandolin snuggly, but has enough space to allow for my tone gard to remain on the instrument which is essential.I will say that when the case is open, the top itself is a little more flexible than I would have expected. It twists relatively easily if you try to "test it for rigidity", but that flex could also been seen as good thing if you're talking "flexible, impact resistant material". Which it certainly is made of.This case will put up with more than your average instrument cases typical bumps and scrapes. Even if, god forbid, something did crack the fiberglass, there's still enough space inside that the distance from the surface of the case to the top of you mandolin, should keep the instrument well protected.I will be playing at a bunch of festivals this summer and this case will be just fine, I'm sure of it.btw my band is http://www.SparklePonyBand.comIt's not a Carlton, but it's a boat load cheaper and will definitely do the job you need it to. Plus then you don't have to look like a case snob! ha ha ha

We have been waiting and waiting it seems to receive this case with no communication except for the day we placed the order. We selected 2 day shipping, which doesn't matter if they don't have the product I understand. Its been nearly a month I believe with the only communicating being done thru us. If it's out of stock, you must have some idea when it might be shipped. If our daughter didn't love it so much I would've cancelled the order weeks ago. However, that doesn't mean we are looking somewhere else and could still do it. Communication was very poor with this order.Other vendors thru amazon have much better communication skills when an item has been backordered or out of stock, which as a customer is greatly appreciated and makes you feel like your valued. You'd think as a vendor you'd want to keep the order (and not have the customer cancel the order) so, you would want to keep them informed as to the progress of the item.

Great construction very sturdy. Fits my kentucky F mandolin. Very sleek looking, the handle is great. Almost too nice to put stickers on it. ALMOST

Had a Superior hard case for my A model (not fiberglass) and liked it but wanted this style for my F model Loar because I needed a shoulder strap and the fiberglass style has a rubber seal (I live in rainy seattle).My only complaint is it's a little too snug. I felt uncomfortable closing it at first that it was too much pressure on the neck, however I'm thinking it will be fine as the padding forms to it. The measurements listed were slightly larger than mine so I knew it would fit, but the neck support is a little off.The rubber seal is a big perk and the price was really good. It was listed as used, however looks brand new and $60 cheaper than new price. Probably was returned because it didn't seem used at all. Seems really well made, just took off the one star for the fit- a little too snug when closing and the neck sits a little odd on the rest (the other hard case A model fit my A model Loar perfect so I was surprised this was off on the neck rest/storage compartment).

I bought this as a replacement case for my Eastman F-style (MD615). It's a bit snug for that model (the point grooves in the case's foam don't line up with where they are on the mandolin and the Eastman body curve is slimmer than the case) but the mandolin will fit and moulds the foam in time. It's much lighter than the Eastman oblong case and has a good amount of foam protection and the fibreglass outer is really solid. I've travelled on trains and in cars to multiple gigs now and I feel safe with my mandolin in it. Pretty good price too, for the quality.

Mit der Qualität bin ich sehr zufrieden und so kann ich das Case guten Gewissens nur weiter empfehlen. Die Verschlüsse wurden von anderen Käufern teilweise als nicht so solide beschrieben. Dem kann ich in der Form nicht beipflichten, da ich gut damit klarkomme. Ein Punkt Abzug gebe ich für die Bilderauswahl zum Artikel. Hier werden eindeutig zwei verschiedene Cases bebildert, was etwas verunsichert. So wusste ich nicht, welchen Artikel ich tatsächlich geschickt bekommen würde. Ich habe den von mir gewünschten bekommen und bin davon sehr angetan! Speziell in Bezug auf Wertigkeit und äussere Ansehnlichkeit!
