Add beauty and function to home
We love these on our house. Work perfectly to direct water the same way a downspout does, but add beauty and charm. We only added them to downspouts that were visible from a window and not against the side of the house, like our front porch and kitchen bay window. Look great in the rain or on a sunny day. Work very well. Highly recommend getting the copper downspout cup installed leading from the gutter. We did not do this at first and will be adding those extensions at the top to keep the water flowing down the chains correctly. Easy to install, and create various lengths. We have 8.5' on the front and 17' on the back. These were the best price for the design we liked. We used a copper basin on the front and yard stakes in the back, both work fine,

Worth the extra $$
This is a very heavy-duty SOLID copper rain chain with nice large cups that handles the rain very nicely. I have it loosely installed while waiting on drier weather to get into the gutter, and even with the current rectangular opening/funnel in my gutters where the downspout used to be, these cups caught the rain and diverted it down to my rain barrel with very little splashing. It was early morning, still dark except for the light of the garage door beside which this is installed, and the water was streaming straight down the chain and into the rain barrel. When I shone the flashlight on it I could see only a few rogue droplets splashing. This rain chain is far sturdier and cups far wider than the other set I purchased (and which is now on it's way back). It's night and day difference, and I'll be looking to get another one for another gutter.

Who knew? We love this item.
Until 90 days ago we didn't know what a rain chain was. While searching for downspouts sources we came across information on rain chains. Two of our downspouts had become freeways for roof rats so we took them down but something was needed to manage the water flow from the gutters. We decided to try these rain chains. About 8 days after installation it poured 3/4 inch in a few hours. The chains and accessory fittings we had installed worked 100% perfectly, moving the fast flowing water straight down without splashing sideways and directly onto our concrete driveway which is sloped away from the house - as it should be. Installation required a little bit of patience and ingenuity to enlarge the hole in the gutter and properly fit the new chains but the entire two chain install took less than an hour and required only a small amount of clear gutter sealant - from Home Depot. We appreciate the excellent function, the price and the overall aesthetic of these chains.

Beautiful.
Love this rain chain. Easy to put up with a few simple tools. The style is nice. The length. Very soothing look during the rainy season. Very pleased.

They look great!
Update to review: 9/17/15, weathering beautifully. Minimal darkening, photos posted. I'm not sure how copper "should" react to the elements, so the fact that the rain chains are now coated with a copper colored powder that can be rubbed off, concerns me a bit. I hope it 's not rust, and therefore, not copper at all. But, again, they do look just fantastic. My husband said it was easy to install them. They sound and look great when it's raining, working exactly as they should. I'm glad we chose a style that has a larger diameter opening to allow our heavy Florida rains to flow into the cups rather than run outside of them.

Beautiful and very well made.
Love the way it looks....in the box, but....due to my roof being metal, & living where it snows I was advised not to replace the gutter that was on the house when I purchased it. ( any new gutter would also be broken by snow coming off the roof) so I never got a chance to see it hanging and doing itβs rain chain thing. But....good news....my Sister will get it for Christmas and sheβs excited.

It works great and I love it
My son installed this rain chain for me five weeks ago. It works great and I love it! We've been having some rain lately and it's been fun and relaxing to watch. My eaves are a little higher off the ground than normal so we had to add a two foot extension chain (from Stanwood) in order to connect to the Monarch 15" rain bowl that I also bought. I did get the Stanwood gutter adaptor for it, too; and that works very well. I returned the gutter installer as it wasn't needed, but just so you know, I had to pay shipping to return that item.

Great rain chain if you live in an area which has heavy rainfall.
We live in a high rainfall area. After reading some reviews I decided on this and one other rain chain, both from Monarch International. Both look great and handle the volume of rain we get. Many thanks to the people who put up the reviews about these larger diameter rain chains handling heavy rain better than the smaller diameter ones. I wouldn't have thought about buying a rain chain with larger cups if I hadn't seen the reviews. Great effect instead of a downpipe. It's hard to say which one I like more, this one or the Pure Copper Bamboo Rain Chain. They both look so good when it rains. I'm glad I got two different chains.

Decent quality copper. Very pretty looking.
Very nice! Only problem is the spike to secure it did not come with it. If I may suggest a larger cup at the top, to catch. I find in heavy rain a lot spills outside of the circumference of the top cup.
