Works well
I was skeptical after read the reviews but reviews fir the more expensive motor ran cleaner were better so I tried it out figured most people that gave this item a bad review wasn’t putting elbow grease in turning the hand crank . I tried it on a disc that looked like someone used it to dig in the sand box and it works fine game played well. As long as the boot up part of a disc is ok this item will work

I hate to slam a product when there are no reviews to counter it, but I wish I'd had reviews to go by before I bought this thing. It's one of the poorest products I've ever bought. My husband brought home a DVD from a store that sells used ones, but he hadn't checked the disc carefully. It had a few superficial scratches on it, and I mean really, really superficial--it played well--but I wanted to give the movie to our nephew and didn't want to send one with scratches. This gizmo did nothing to remove them, no matter how many times we tried. We also had two DVDs that were skipping. It helped one that previously was unwatchable but the other, which skipped a little bit at the beginning of the movie, is no longer playable. Now it stops at the beginning of that bad spot and won't budge from it no matter what we do to try to get it to play. We can't even fast-forward it.It's also very difficult to use. It turns with a very small button-like knob on top, but the movement is so coarse that it repeatedly slips from our fingers when we try to turn it. My husband gave up trying to use it, but stubborn little me kept trying to the point that my thumb really hurt. Because of the price, I didn't expect it to be a quality product, but we had only three discs to use it on and it didn't make sense to spend very much for it. Little did I know that I may as well have taken our $12.95 and cut it into pieces; in my opinion, it's not worth the price of a postage stamp. If you decide to try one of these things, a couple of words of advice: It seems to require a very thinly applied spray of the liquid that comes with it. If you spray the DVD heavily, the two beige discs inside that are supposed to do their magic become soaked and seem to glide across the DVD without making contact with it. I had done that the first couple of times I tried it, and when I realized what had happened, I had to leave the cover open for a couple of days for those pads to dry out. If you get one, I hope you have better luck than we did.

Simple to use.
Not sure where to get a second bottle of the liquid. Other than that, the damaged Ramons disk with a skipping track no longer skips.

Inexpensive solution
It was easy to use without electricity. I don't know how well it works all the time because I have only used it once and it did the job !

Does not do the job! Handle broke after first use

Just cleans - no repairs
Th devise plus the cleaning liquid does a decent job of cleaning dirt and fingerprints off a disk. As to removing scratches - no go. Possibly the most minute scratches might be corrected but I could not tell. The device itself is very flimsy so I o not expect it to last more than a year if used a couple of times a week.TAR

not what I expected
did not remove the scratches. I would not recommend it.

Cheap Product That Doesn’t Work
omg this is such a cheap product. It’s plastic is so thin and misaligned that it doesn’t even snap together correctly when you’re trying to close it. But it’s actually hard to open because the tabs are too short! The cushion cleaning pad discs came all uneven in both of my boxes. Yes both, because I tried to return the first box that was opened because of the case and the cushions. The cushions were compressed in some spots so deeply that they didn’t even contact the cd evenly. The cushions are a thin material over thin foam.I was told that because the “cleaning fluid” is flammable, they wouldn’t take a return. It was ok to ship it to me but not ok to ship back. What a scam. It’s only 30% alcohol and 70% distilled water. The only thing useful in this “kit” is the fluid and its bottle. The company did respond to Amazon customer service and they sent me another box which hadn’t been opened. But the cushion pads and the case had the exact same problems so it’s just cheaply designed and produced. So I paid $14 to get a fluid I could mix myself with a $1 bottle of alcohol and a $1 gallon of distilled water.Beware
