Martin Clunes introduces us to his much loved Clydesdales Ronnie and Bruce. These beautiful work horses were once a common sight, but they fell out of favour with the coming of the railways and the internal combustion engine. I am lucky enough to be able to remember a local farmer who refused to go with the flow and buy a tractor, and can well remember these beautiful animals working the land.This is an excellent DVD and is well worth watching, especially if, like me, you are fed up with the constant repeats on most of the TV channels. Thank you Martin Clunes.

Great tv we'll worth it.

We saw this on our local PBS (public supported) channel. We absolutely loved it! And how nice that it starred our favorite British actor, Martin Clunes (Doc Martin!). His touch and understanding of his special boys was so life affirming in this cynical age. Unfortunately, tis DVD as well as his other horse DVDs, Horsepower and Islands of Britain, would not play on my US DVD player, as I was unaware that DVDs are different, country to country. Unfortunately, there did not appear to be a US DVD available for these DVDs so we had to return them. My fault in not knowing!

While the content was not quite what I had anticipated, it was never the less very interesting. Coming from a farming back ground, seeing work horses being trained and being employed in ways that I am unaccustomed too was very enjoyable.
