A fun book!!
I am eight years old. The positive thing is that it is super Duper fun and action packed. The negative thing is that isnโt there too much pain? like what about the little girl like sheโs the main character so why would she get hurt!?

I fell in love with the author's sense of humor while watching him ...
I fell in love with the author's sense of humor while watching him on the Graham Norton show so I had to check out his work. This is the first book I've purchased so far and my kids and I are truly enjoying reading it together. I'll be buying more of his works soon.

Ideal present for 10 year old.
My 10 year old grandson in America absolutely loved all 3 of the David Walliams books I sent him for Christmas and has written reports on two of them to share with his teacher and classmates at school.

We recommend this book
Review by Malcolm and DonovanWhile we have enjoyed other David Walliams books such as Gangsta Granny, Mr Stink and The Midnight Gang we found that Awful Auntie along with Demon Dentist are our favourites. It is packed with great descriptions like Stella's scream in terror when Stella met Soot. David Walliam's character descriptions are awesome and we really like Soot and all of the other characters. In this book Stella had to solve the mystery of her parents' death as well escaping from Awful Auntie. Tony Ross pictures' looked old fashioned and added to the story. We love the way that David Walliams added Gibbon to the story to make it funnier. Saxby Hall was a great setting for the story because it's a mansion with lots of rooms and grounds. This book is suitable for boys and girls aged 8 and upwards. Younger children might get scared or not understand.

A little bit Emotional and scary in starting for year 5 kids
My son who is in year 5 in school ,After reading BAD DAD, Demon dentist, Grandpaโs great escape and The beasts of Buckingham palace he wants the awful auntie of William David..He read quickly but it is emotional and little bit scary book. In starting it shows my son was upset and emotional when Stellas parents died and auntie puts her in cellar..David Williams books are mostly depends on imaginary stories. Whenever kids start reading his books the take a lot interst and finished very quickly. In this book his illustrate Tiny Ross did well. Some books has movies as well so kids enjoyed a lot if they already read so my son asked if this story book movie released.David William books are worthy, not only kids enjoyed elders as well.

Awfully good book and illustrations
This has been bought as a present for my 7 year nephew. I know he will love it. Especially as I am an awfully nice Aunt. He is exceptional at reading and it will improve on what he has achieved.
