The Sponsor's 12 Step Manual: A Guide to Teaching and Learning the Program of AA.

This is a perfect book for you if you are a sponsor in the program. It is a blueprint of what needs to be done when you are a sponsor of someone. I have been in the program for 8 years and I am finally sponsoring someone and going thru the steps with her. I wanted to make sure that I did everything that I can in addition to the big book of AA .... to help and guide her thru this program.This is perfect and very easy and simlple to read. It has really helped me make the right choice when I am speaking with her. It was like a teacher of the steps of the program ... I used this book and the big book and as of today we are both still sober.I would recommend this book if you are just wanted to make sure that you do the job that you need to when sponsoring someone .

I have purchased several of these to give to sponsees in AA... use them along with the Big Book and weekly meeting with your sponsee and you will have a better than average chance of helping that person overcome his or her addiction to Alcohol. Highly recommended! There is also a workbook version of this that includes areas for your sponsee to write out answers and thoughts to important questions. I have also purchased a number of these in the past.

The book is everything you said it would be, and I am enjoying it very much… Highly recommend it to those who are in AA working the steps

I rated this book 3 stars because I found it to be very redundant and wordy. The teaching method is filled with so much school type essay work that it lost it's appeal to me. I found the information very helpful but right from the start I couldn't get into all the essay writing assignments.

This was an excellent guide for a first time sponsor. Very thorough as it should be and the sponsee would need to be very commited to tackle the immense amount of work that this guide offers. The sponsor may need to tailor parts to show that that his sponsee that he is making progress. Most newcomers want 5 years of sobriety in a month.

I wouldn't recommend this. It is too basic and if you are in AA you already would know all this.
