solid, reliable and long lasting
I have a taller, vocal mic version of this stand which is between 12-14 years old. It has held up very well, with no issues whatsoever. I bought this short version for use as a kick drum mic stand. Sure, there are less expensive options available that could work...but I doubt they would hold for as long as the DR Pro brand. A mic stand may not be a sexy part of your tool kit, but quality tools last longer, perform better and are more reliable in the long run.

Solid
This is a great product. I use it for micing guitar amps and drums. Previous comments about the weight and construction are accurate... this is a solid mic stand that is able to hold a condenser mic at full extension with no wobble.

Perfect for guitar height.
I use it with my PCM-D50 to record classical guitar. Great for precise, low positioning when sitting. I use it to work around (or below/above) my music stand.Pretty solid little rig. Get the Edirol mic stand adapter.

Great.
Worth the extra $$$. I use as a stand for my iPad when gigging . It's well made with a nice heavy feel to it.

Boom arm came cross-threaded
Good quality components, but poor assembly and unserviceable. The threads on the arm were crossthreaded upon arrival it is not possible to remove the arm. Very unfortunate. For the price is not worth the gamble. The Tama Iron Works mic stands are much better in a similar price range. I even drilled a hole through the insert to prevent the threads from spinning and was only able to get about a quarter turn out of the arm. There’s no way to take it off unless I go to town and put it in a vice but I’m sure it would destroy the threads if I forced it to come off.

Kick Drum & Electric Guitar Amp
We bought two of these 10 years ago. They are still rocking our church worship services.

Debating between brands? Get this brand, buy the nice stuff, not the dinky stuff.
If you are debating between a low end or a nice sturdy mic stand. Just get the better. It is a little bit more but you wont regret getting DR Pro brand. They are nice.Proline and other brands have little things that just make them less convenient, less sturdy, and annoying
