GiroStrade Dure SG Men's Road Cycling Gloves

Great with one caveat
These are great gloves with really good construction and great padding, especially the gel padding in two places on the heel of the palm. My one complaint is that the material is very thick right at the juncture between the thumb and index finger. I do long road rides and after about an hour and a half to two hours that spot gets sore enough I have to take the gloves off for the rest of my ride. I’m not saying it can be easily solved because I also have a much thinner pair of full finger gloves that doesn’t have that problem but also doesn’t have much padding…so, you win some you lose some. I would still buy these again: if I ride two hours with them then another hour without it is still more comfortable overall than riding 3 hours with nothing.

Loses sewing very easily in pressure points. Can be as easily repaired.

They look good, but the sizing is off.
Make sure you get a size larger than what would normally be worn. The large fits like a medium. I ordered the large because it's what I would wear in any other glove and had to exchange it for an XL. Now they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I bought them because I read they would decrease my hand numbness while MTBing. They only help minimally. I guess every lil bit counts.

helps with hand numbness
I tried three or four different pairs of gloves at local bike stores and a couple I ordered from Amazon and these seemed the best to prevent hand numbness. I still have issues but these helped a lot.

Known brand - will the quality and performance stand up?
I do not have the need to buy new bike gloves often. So my preferences are somewhat set in long standing views from prior pairs. My current pair is so shot that my hands seems to get numb on some longer rides. Did a little bit or research, but not a ton. I didnt want to overpay for gear that wasnt worth overpaying for.Settled on these Gira after looking at a few websites to form a consensus opinion. The pros and cons for me..Pros:- great price- great color options (not important to me, but nice to have)- smaller velcro closer- fabric square that can be used to pull glove snuggly onto hand- durability (only used few times, but they dont show sign of excessive wearCons:- they run small, are tight fitting- can be a challenge to take off quickly (because they run small)What I buy them again? Yes, but perhaps I would size up further. Would I recommend them? Yes. They are decently priced, look decent, and seem to work so far.Enjoy!

Would be a 5 if a seam on my first pair hadn't come apart
Pros:+ The padding is good for most hand positions+ The velour on the thumb works well for a quick face-wipe+ Highlighter yellow is nice and bright - better visibility when making hand signals+ The pull loops on the middle and ring fingers help A LOT when removing the gloves, which is good, because...You Should Know:o ...they run pretty snug. I measured my hand (circumference and length) using their chart and was smack in the middle of the Medium range. I wouldn't want my gloves any tighter than they are; if your measurements are at the high end of your range, consider the next size up.o When I'm on the shoulders (or whatever 'not quite hoods not quite tops' is called - I'm still pretty new at this), the bar misses almost all the padding. This might be unique to me, but it's something to consider.Cons:- The velcro doesn't seem very strong. Not much of an issue in my case, since the gloves are so snug, but it's something to be aware of.- Here's the biggie: the seam on the thumb webbing on one glove has come apart for about 2cm after less than 11 hours of riding (see pic). I haven't even washed them yet - that was all from sweat and handlebar rub.Update: I did contact the vendor and they sent me a new pair for free (without asking me to return the old ones). The new pair does not exhibit the same seam problem.Update update: after a year, the second pair is holding up just fine. Back to 4 stars.

Way better gloves out there!
I’m not a big guy but even the med gloves are a tight fit, hard to get in and off. Not very good at wicking sweat or drying the brow.

Nice gloves but the palm pads seem to be in the wrong place.
They do fit nice are comfortable and seem to be fairly well put together. No tabs for getting them off though and they are hard to remove.Unless one rests their palms on top of the bars, the majority of the time, the pads are in the wrong place.I tend to grip my bars most of the way around. Just the very edges of the palm pads touch the bars when they are gripped in this manor. So, the nice thick pads are not very helpful as they don't contact the bar much at all.Haven't had them long enough to comment on their durability.

Excellent protection for ulnar nerve
Bought these as I previously had some ulnar nerve entrapment issues in my hand after a thousand mile cycle across Australia’s Nullarbor.I don’t cycle a huge amount in the UK and when I do I tend to put a bit too much weight on my handlebars. These gloves really have helped protect my previously compressed ulnar nerve on my long morning training rides. The gel padding is the perfect thickness and placement to protect the vulnerable channel in near the wrist where the ulnar nerve runs into the hand. This makes these gloves great for any cyclists who’s riding posture can sometimes be less than optimum. The gloves are also very nice quality and unlike some others I’ve had they don’t shrink when they’re dried out after being soaked in the rain.

Stitching not up to quality level.
When I received these gloves in June, I was happy with the level of padding on the palms and the fit was great. Over the last two months I have found that the stitching on the fingers is coming undone and this is not something I would expect of a pair of cycling gloves at this price point. Whilst the padding is still of a decent quality, I feel that I will need to replace these gloves sooner rather than later. Maybe worth looking for a higher quality pair of gloves.

Good fit and great padding, but stitching failure.
These gloves look great and provide additional visibility for a cyclist. Padding is much better than other gloves I've owned and hopefully this will help reduce numb hands. Recommended.UPDATE: After my 5th ride, the stitching on the index finger came undone. Such as pity as I was hoping the Giro brand would be better quality and everything else about these gloves are great. No return option that I can find.

Good quality Gloves
These are excellent gloves, providing comfort and seem to be well made. I normally take a large, which was what I ordered. They are very tight to get on, but once on are fine. I would prefer them to be easier to get on and off, but would want to try the extra large before buying them. If only there were more REAL shops where you can try things on!!!!!!!!!!

Premium Price Not Quality.
Worn the gloves on 4x 20mile cycles this week and they are already splitting at the seam. Definitely would not recommend. They have the price tag which suggests they're decent and even good reviews from third party sites. Maybe I was unlucky but hands on experience where you expect a pair of gloves to last a season? I mean the muddy fox gloves I got from sports direct have held up better and they were a fiver.
