I think this is a great product. Got it during BF, still not cheap. The power of the motors are not the biggest on the market, but the design really helps the performance. I don’t see any smoke getting away. Also it looks much better than competing products. Finally, the sound is not bad at all even on high setting. One minor suggestion is to change the light bulb color to a warmer color, that would make food more appealing! I would definitely recommend this product, very solid job Fotile!

The media could not be loaded. ***Update 1/16/19: Updating my rating from 3 to 5 stars due to the below issue getting resolved and amazing customer service.Original review:Let me start by saying that we really wanted to like this range hood as it’s one of the best on the market and doesn’t compare to western brands in terms of suction power, design, and aesthetics. With that said unfortunately the unit we received was defective. When we unboxed it there was some damage to the left side corner as you can see on the photo, likely from the package being dropped in transit causing the metal frame to bulge.Despite this we decided to give it a try anyways since the Fotile service tech was already onsite to install the unit. After the installation was done, we were excited to try out the hood for the first time but it was quickly evident that there is an issue with the mechanical hood flap. It only opened halfway and not the full angle as intended. Fotile sent the service tech back out to fix it, and while it’s better now and extends fully it’s still somewhat loose and the flap does not close smoothly. You can tell the motor struggles to perform the open and close function.According to the Fotile service tech the inside rod responsible for opening the flap is not centered and rubbing against another part on the inside of the unit.

This is an edited review. Initially, I was not this unit's biggest fan. It was loud and didn't work as well as my old microwave unit. Then I left a review here about its performance problems. Fotile reached out to me immediately. One of their customer care representatives called me up and even Facetimed with me to try to diagnose the problem. Then he offered to come to my house to take a look in person. Today, two people from Fotile showed up and diagnosed the problem. I'd installed it incorrectly and after they fixed it, it's now an amazing machine. They were polite, friendly and very professional. They also gave me a decorative board to use if and when I want to lower the vent hood a few inches. One of the people from Fotile even showed me some tricks on how to clean and maintain it. The noise is gone, too. It's very quiet and I can't wait to try it out more at dinner. I am very impressed by their responsive and effective customer service!

Honestly I was a little bit disappointed at this product, because there are so many 5 stars reviews and I have a huge expectation on it. But it was not as quite as I expected.first of all, very difficult to install. it is so heavy that it took 3 person to intall it, 2 person lifting it and the 3rd person tighten the screw2nd, it is very noisy, it is same noise as my old 7 sone Boran 300 CFM exhausted hood;3rd, the machine is not designed for easy disassemble to clean and maintenance of the turbine and motors, i dont know how it will look smell like after a couple years use.on the good side, it is much stronger and vent out much more air then my old 300 cfm machine. great looking. fit the black appliances kitchen style very well.

Just got this advanced range hood installed today. When the technician was uninstalling the previous GE one, we was surprised to see that the duct pipe was still very clean, which means that range hood did no functionality at all during the past two years. It was just a decoration. How could I believe that.The installation is pretty straightforward. And after installation, I started to stew some beef. Usually, the whole house is full of the smell. Now the magic thing is that I almost can not smell any in my bedroom although I left the door open. Now I could smell the food flavor and smoke out of my house significantly, but not much inside. Fotile range hood really works well as it discharges most oil smoke through the duct pipe. So I really like it.

I bought this range hood in 36in model and so far we like it. We like the looking most: the exterior is in piano-black color and looks stylish. The top wing rotates up when in use, giving us a feel of futurist. The built-in LED lights are bright. The suction power is around 500 cfm, actually not top-notch in this price tier, but already good enough for daily use. Would recommend professional installation on the 36in model, because the range hood is very heavy and requires drilling holes at precise location.

After 4 years use, now baffle plate is not opening at all. troubleshooting from Fotile official website said "Push rod may be worn out". They linked a video to demonstrate how to replace the electric rod. The problem is I cannot find the part from Fotile official or anywhere else. If you check the video, it's also a lot of works, I give up.Fan, motor, lights are still working, but if baffle plate cannot be opened, all other functions is useless. I guess if using a lot of oil in cooking, which is one of their selling point, oil may stuck on the rod, make it hard to extend, and finally cause the electric rod overloaded and burned out. This is definitely a design flaw, because average range hood working life is about 10+ years.
