My new favorite beach accessory-best travel and everything towel!
This is an awesome use-for-anything ‘towel!’I brought it on a beach vacation & used it as a beach blanket, beach towel and a cover up, and plan to use it for many other things as well!I was skeptical about its claims of not holding sand but I was pleasantly surprised when I could literally pick it up off the beach-even a little damp- just shake it out, and then use it to dry off!The size is plenty big enough for a tall adult to use, my husband (6’3”) and I would sometimes both use it as a beach towel since the other one we had was still wet.The material is thick enough to feel like your not just using a scarf to dry off yet thin enough to throw over a chair and have it fairly dry out by the time you get out of the water again.I’m going to order a second one for my husband to bring on our next trip. I think this would make a great gift, especially for those hard-to-buy-for people. I haven’t washed it yet, so no word on that.I also LOVE that it’s eco friendly, vegan and such; something I definitely look for!

Costa Rica tested and approved!!!!
Used this as a blanket and a towel and a shawl in Costa Rica and absolutely LOVE it. We we're filthy and deep jungle and it stayed smelling nice and stayed really clean (I was not) and it's so cute!!!! And big!!!! And it's super absorbant and dries really fast. Will be ordering more!

Maybe my expectations were too high
Updated:After washing the towel twice, it has grown a little softer. However, it has also started to pill. (Photos attached in an attempt to capture the piling. It doesn't show up well on camera.) Both times, I doubled bagged the towel in a laundry bag which I then placed into a pillow case (which I always do with new garments to prevent any staining from color runs). I can't imagine what state the towel would be in if I had just thrown it into the wash. This is one high maintenance towel. Even my pashmina shawls don't pill when I wash them in a similar way.At least my westie seems to like it, so it has now become her bath towel + bed throw.----I've been wanting a peshtemal towel for a while and after scouring reviews for hours and days, I decided to indulge in this Mebien one because I loved the classy and minimalist design. After seeing the towel in person, I'm regretting not going with a different color. Certainly the design is beautiful, but the light grey looks very faded. It's like I had this towel for a decade. The edges of the towel are also unexpectedly abrasive. Maybe it's the way it's woven, or maybe it's my hypersensitive skin, but it almost feels a bit serrated. I'm not sure if it will soften over multiple washes. I hope it does, because the rest of the towel is nice. Not as soft as I'd hoped, but it will do.One thing that I do like about this color is that it's pretty reversible. Perhaps they all are, but it does look nice in photos. I kinda wish I had gotten the black and white one, though. On the whole, a solid 4 stars for me. EDIT: 3 and a half because the towel fabric pills like crazy even after careful washing.

Soft, beautiful and can go in the dryer
I research Turkish cotton towels for hours, read thousands of conflicting reviews, and finally bought these because I loved the pattern/color combo. They are perfect! Soft, thin but not too thin. Exactly what I wanted. Washed and dried them upon receipt (many I looked at said no dryer) and they came out beautifully. No shrinkage at all and even softer.

Reasonable but classy!
This 'pesthemal' is like a beach towel but the texture is more like a gauze than a towel. It does not have piles and it is thin compared with a standard towel. This piece is big enough so one can wear it as a pareo. The pattern and color are beautiful. My favorite is a combination of two 'pesthamals' in gray and light blue. They are chic and gorgeous. The price is reasonable but it is classy. The nice little bag makes it special for a present. One practical advice for a new user is that when you wash it, you want to wash it separately from other laundry. It gives off fluffs for the first wash which will be on other laundry. I could easily brush them off, but if I had known it I would not have washed it with other stuff.

Beautiful and so soft!
I love this Turkish towel so much. It is beautiful and so very soft. I have another brand Turkish towel and this one is much softer. This is the third Mebien Turkish towel that I have purchased, the first for myself and the others as gifts for my college age niece and daughter, the girls both love them too. It's a nice size to use as a throw blanket and is compact enough to stuff into a travel bag. My daughter is bringing hers on a trip to Europe to use as a blanket for the plane, beach towel and shoulder wrap when visiting houses of worship. I have purchased 3 different prints and love them all, beautiful muted colors and designs. I highly recommend this for oneself or as a great gift!

Can’t go wrong
These towels are probably my favorite thing in my bathroom right now. They have a dual sided print, they absorb water exceptionally, and they dry in under 3 hours. They look great messy, straight, or even rolled! They look good all of the time. I plan to buy more. I just wish I could get it in a forest green.

Cute and super functional
I bought the gray towel/blanket. I LOVE IT! I bought it before a trip to Hawaii because I didn’t want to carry a beach towel. It is soft to use as a blanket on the airplane. Thick enough to use a beach blanket to lay out on. Thin enough to fold up in my daypack. Sand didn’t stick to it. It washes great. I want to buy one for each of my family members, the dog, neighbors, mail lady...

Nice tablecloth/blanket/shawl - but IT IS CERTAINLY NOT A TOWEL
I recently purchased 10 Turkish towels (from Amazon and others) and this one didn't pass the test.As with the other towels, I soaked them all overnight in cold water, washed with white vinegar added to wash cycle and dried on ultra low heat setting. I washed each towel 4 times before use. This is not a towel. It pushes the water around much like a polyester tablecloth would. In other words, it is NOT ABSORBENT AT ALL - and only somewhat soft.I was hesitant to order it as it looked like a different weave than the others and, as it turns out, doesn't perform as a towel should. And it has a loose fringe where every other Turkish towel has a hand-tied fringe along with instruction in how to re-tie them should they become untied.I will likely use it as a lap/blanket, shawl/scarf, tablecloth, throw blanket.I did some research on Turkish towels before ordering and this just slipped through the cracks. (because I liked this design).I have found that in order to be an authentic Turkish towel it should be:- 100 % Turkish Cotton- Hand tied fringe- Made in Turkey- Normally woven in a herringbone or diamond weave (see photo - this one on left vs authentic towel on right)Although this is a nice piece of fabric, is it not a Turkish towel.FYI - Every one of the other towels are very absorbent and very soft. They are beautiful and both myself and my spouse love them.See Demmex on Amazon.2 of them will travel with us when the world opens up again after covid. This will be nice as a blanket or tablecloth or shawl or tapestry, but not suitable if you're looking for a towel.

Just as expected. Love it.
This is just what I was looking for. A soft compact towel that dries quick, it soft and can be used as a towel or a blanket. Beautiful design. Would recommend.

Beautiful but
This is the look I was wanting, beware they are not 'thick and plush' towels but look good on the hooks and are good for drying off hands
