A Re-Working of the Green Knight Tale
The story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is one of the greatest of the Arthurian tales. At its core, the story is about the tension between the ideals of courtly love and the baser human instincts. Obviously, this is not a story for young children. Garret Morris takes this classic story and reworks it for young children. In his re-telling, the story morphs into a tale of the importance of being a better listener and more humble. This is a well written book and my eight year old daughter really enjoyed it. For those interested in a children's version closer to the original story, check out Selina Hastings' "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight".

A great read...
The boys love Gerald Morris. His stories are always full of action and very entertaining. This is no exception. I love the way he instills moral values into his stories. A great twist to the classic King Arthur stories.
