Insightful, compassionate, and practical
You should read this book if you want:--highly practical suggestions about how to teach in a way that will be more accessible and effective for students with a wide variety of disabilities, learning styles, and personalities;--insightful analysis that will inspire you to question fundamental assumptions in academia, whatever your field;--compassionate anecdotes about students, teachers, and scholars navigating ableism and mental disability in higher education; or--critical perspectives on the scapegoating of mental disability for violence. That's not to say that those are the _only_ the things that this book offers, but they are some of the parts of it that I have found particularly helpful, brilliant, and moving.

a must-read
This book is beautifully written, which is rare for an academic book. It is interesting, well-researched and thoughtful. It is also thought-provoking. I recommend this book to everyone, not just disability scholars or academics.
