Low Cost High Quality Microwave
We purchased this microwave to replace a quite expensive leading brand of microwave that failed due to a faulty magnetron, I priced the replacement part and it was going to cost more than the price of this Sharp microwave, I therefore took the quickest and most economic option and purchased this machine. We have been using the microwave for over 10 months now and have had no problems whatsoever, this microwave has no clock indicating the time like our previous microwave but functions admirably and has touch control panel functions that the previous microwave did not i.e. 8 Auto cook functions and 3 Weight, Cook and Defrost function make this microwave cooker a breeze to use. If you prefer you can simply press in the required cooking time using the 10 Minute, 1 Minute or 10 Seconds touch buttons the time then appears in the digital display and counts down on pressing start. There are 10 power level settings and with its 20 Litre capacity it makes this compact but very flexible microwave appealing to anyone in the market for a good quality low priced microwave. With its easy clean interior a touch control panel and there is even a child safety lock to stop the little ones from operating the device. I would recommend this Sharp R270SLM microwave to any one, highly rated.

Should have read the description.
I have no issues with the microwaving ability of the Sharp. It seems to work well. I've only had it for a couple of months, so it should. My one issue is that it does not have a clock. It simply has a couple of little bright blue dots that flash continually. I do have other clocks in the kitchen so it's not the end of the world but I wish I'd read the description more thoroughly as I would have opted for a model with a clock that doesn't flash constantly. I've had four or five microwaves, going back 25 years. They've all had clocks. I had no idea that a company would make one that didn't, probably to save a few pence. Seems a bit mean. However, if this doesn't matter to you then buy one as it works well.

Excellent microwave oven
Inexpensive superb microwave oven from Sharp. I had a Sharp microwave oven for around 10 yrs before it packed in. Hence choosing another Sharp model. Easy to use and works nicely. Does not have a clock but I don’t need one as my cooker has a clock and I have a wall clock. Photo shows a clock which is a little misleading. Good machine. Recommend.

Hasn’t lasted
Looks good, easy to use & clean was the reason I bought same make & model after my first one went off in a bang after 5 years of use. Unfortunately I have only had this one 13 months and this morning started buzzing and also went off with a bang, won’t be buying a 3rd.Have since been in touch with Sharp and they have said they can’t do anything for me because it is now outside of warranty.

Just what was wanted
Fits the bill for my 93 yr old mum. Her old one finally ground to a stop, and she wanted exactly the same one. Mostly because there is a program button for reheating your tea - which she uses a lot because she dozes off before finishing her drink - and the baked potato function is very useful for her. When looking for this I found there was a new and improved version - but it did not seem to have the same layout, so went for the old version. She is very pleased and is happily using it.

Good, but no cigar!
Our last microwave has just decided to lose the display on its control panel. It was also a Sharp, purchased 26 years ago and has given loyal serrvice all that time. I went for a Sharp again because of this. The item was delivered promptly and looks great. It seems to do all we will want it to do. Some reviews have criticised the display for not having a clock. This is of little relevance as we are quite happy to turn off the flashing display at the socket as you don't have to re-set the clock each time. What is a pain is that the 'kitchen timer' does not show a time display on countdown and although it bleeps at the end there is no indication of where you are in the countdown period, without momentarily touching the timer button. At the start of countdown the display shows for 3-5 seconds before going blank. I thought this may be a fault and contacted Sharp customer services who confirmed that this is a power saving effect! The timer does display countdown during cooking. Its a pity that the kitchen timer function doesn't also show a display - the amount of power saved must be minimal. Poor design thinking!

Sharp Microwave
Very nice microwave and easy to use. The buttons are hard to press but if you use your fingernail it is much easier.

Is it really stainless steel being painted?
Bought it as a present for a relative.I wanted a microwave in stainless steel as they don't rust or the paint peels inside. This one is white,if it's stainless steel why paint it???.The people that I bought it for are pleased with it as it does all they want it for.I just hope that the paint does not peel.
