June 29, 2019 Update: Our heater abruptly stopped working and it was past our return window with Amazon. We contacted the seller directly and they quickly sent out a replacement without any hassle. We installed the new heater today and it is working well. Fingers crossed that this replacement product lasts longer than the first because we do enjoy the heater. The seller definitely deserves a 5 star review for customer service.June 23, 2019- This product stopped working after two uses. The heat output was good for our cool evening temperatures and it was easy to assemble and install, but none of that matters because it just stopped working.

Used this for 2 dinners outside to find third time we tried to turn this on none of the lamps came on. Putting my electrical engineering degree to work I decided to open it up to find that the main hot wire from the safety switch to the on-off buttons had melted at the prong. This draws around 13.6amps and the 1.31mm2 wire doesn't hold up and melts

We just purchased this item for our covered deck. We will probably purchase a second one to cover a larger area. It works and we like it. I do, however, feel the need to rate something that matters to our family. Why put the cord on the bottom, instead of the top, so one could more easily run the cord along the ceiling to a direct outlet? I mean, the cord hangs straight down from the center, so one has to pin it up close to the base and then drape down to the outlet. And, if this is what is needed, then the cord should really be longer. That’s all I’m saying. Great product, works well. Just annoying design!

This puts out a nice amount heat when all three burners are on. You can choose to turn on 1, 2 or all three lights. They feel like a heat lamp for food.My one downside is I thought I would be able to fold this down and put the umbrella down over it. The umbrella mechanics require you take off the heater.I live in the Midwest and I can’t leave the umbrella up without risking wind damage. Fortunately the heater goes on very quickly. I need to figure out a way to conceal the cord. It is too fat to fit with the umbrella pole through the hole in the middle of the patio table.

We have had this for a year. We are in Texas so it's not used as frequently as some. We enjoyed it outside on our patio however we noticed that we couldn't unplug the cord from the unit to the extension cord. We discovered that the plug got hot and caused the connection to melt together. Quite scary.Also, be aware of how to raise and lower each arm.

Heater is great, however it does NOT work on pergolas like it states in the name of the product. This is meant for parasols/umbrellas only! :-(

We purchased this heater for an outdoor area to warm up newborn calves. The heater easily plugs into any outlet, is easy to hang, and works great in the outdoor setting. Calves stay warm under the radiant heat. Would recommend this product to anyone looking for a little extra heat in the winter months.

Was very happy with this when it worked, which was the handful of weeks before it simply stopped turning on. Read other reviews saying something similar, including one by an engineer who performed an autopsy to determine an internal wire simply melts. One star for the month it worked.
