Works great for us!
Works great! I use it with a second refrigerator located in my garage for for supplemental food storage.I bought the pump to take advantage of the refrigerators water dispensing and ice making ability but it was impractical to extend a water line to the garage. The pump was well worth the price. We no longer run out of ice and having a water dispenser outdoors is convenient. It does make a little noise when the pump cycles to fill the ice tray a couple of times a day for about 5 seconds until the bin fills then only when ice level dictates (a few seconds a couple of times a week for us); and, while actually dispensing water. Doesn’t bother us, it’s in the garage. In any case, I prefer this setup over a stand alone water dispenser. And, we no longer run out of ice when we have company.Installation was very easy. Follow clear instructions that come with the pump. Everything needed to connect the pump hose to the refrigerator water inlet was included. When connecting the included hose to the refrigerator, as the instructions state, hand tighten the compression nut to the refrigerator inlet as much as you can, then add I/4 turn (not 1/8th, not 1/2 turn, but 1/4 turn) with pliers. Initially, I torqued the nut sd much as I could with a wrench, ...leaked like a sieve! This of course ruined the compression sleeve, that’s when I decided to read the instructions and so learned the bit about hand tightening! So, after returning with 5 sleeves, got extras just in case (that’s all they’d give me for dollar), I did as described and it worked the first time after I did it their way, and It hasn’t leaked a drop since.Important: be sure to remove your refrigerator’s water filter and install a bypass plug for your model or the pump will cycle constantly. The filter’s not needed since it’s purchased bottled water. You can buy them on Amazon, but I called customer service for my GE refrigerator and they sent me a filter bypass adapter free of charge!

Good at what it's mean to do
I came upon this pump while looking for a submersible pump, but this is actually better. I have a 55 gallon drum that I use as a drinking water source when we head out for extended camping trips. Usually I have a complicated setup with a pump pushing or pulling water which requires me to invert the voltage. Anyway, this pump is a more elegant solution to my setup and it works really well.Obviously it’s designed to go into a 5-gallon bottle and pump the water out of those bottles into a faucet or other outlet. In case it’s not obvious to everyone, once you insert the hose into the outlet connection on the pump you can still remove it by pressing down on the ledge of the connector and it will release the hose. I get great pressure when using it as intended in a 5-gallon jug, but the pressure dropped a little bit when I rigged it to supply water from my 55 gallon drum. But it still works, so that’s a bonus. As someone else stated it’s a little loud, but not unbearable. I do like that the inlet hose has a small grid to prevent debris from flowing into the pump, and that the switch is behind a water-proof cover in case of spills. Also notable, is that it came with everything you’d need to install it, including plenty of quarter-inch hose. On the flip side, my pump seemed a little dirty on arrival, like it either had been used, or perhaps the factory is just not that clean. In either case, I sanitized it before using by running a mild chlorine solution through it for a few minutes. It seems like this is in line with other similar pumps Amazon now shows me in this category.

Worked Good for 18 Months
A bit noisy, but nothing terrible. Unfortunately, it stopped working after 18 months. I thought this product would last longer. I'm disappointed, given the price.

Does provide a solution to providing water to refrigerator for icemaker and drinking water
Pretty noisy and volume seems a bit low but not hard to hook up and use. Have to pump some water out as you are changing bottles or can get some leakage on floor.

The BEST thing we've bought for home or travel!
This is my second pump. My first is hooked to our refrigerator for ice and water, it has been in use for five years and has worked perfectly. The second pump was just bought a month ago and I have it being used on our travel trailer to supply drinking water to our sink. What a nice extra to have even when camping, no wondering what's in the campground water!
