My Yosemite: A Guide for Young Adventurers

My 7 yo son loved this book before and during our trip. It is an engaging read for adults too. I learned a lot and the pictures are great.The pages are very high quality and thick. However the binding is horrible. It fell apart the first day while we were at home. I exchanged it, thinking it was an anomaly, but the replacement did the same thing. It’s such a shame because it’s such a great book.

Like other reviews, the binding separated upon first opening the book. So that’s disappointing, but not a deal breaker. Gorgeous photos and useful information are in this book.Perhaps I should have chosen a newer publication, but this one will do the trick to share with the kids before our summer adventures.

When we received this book, we initially considered returning it, it was a bit heavy and wordy. We weren't sure our children were really going to be interested in reading it. However, the kids did not want us to return it and we were happy we didn't. While they didn't read the book too much before we got to Yosemite, once we did, they read it during car rides and at night. As we hiked various parts of the park, the kids referenced things they read in the book. The interviews with park experts were also interesting for adults. This book is recommended by the Junior Ranger program and is also found in all of Yosemite's shops so you'll feel like a champ when your kids already have it.

My 5yo can't read yet, but this book has enough to keep her pumped about put upcoming trip. She looks through and finds a page to figure out from context or asks me to read it.My only real complaint is that this book talks about the rattlesnake as poisonous. Snakes aren't poisonous, they are venomous. Huge difference.

On the flight to California, and drive to Yosemite, my 9 yr old could not put this book down... By the time we reached the park, he was so excited and eager to see the things he was just reading about... On the way out of the park, my 6yr old picked up the book and started reading it. Wonderful book!

This little guide helped my granddaughter write a presentation and we made a paper model for her school project. It’s a great guide to learn of specific about Yosemite. 5 stars

Bought this to take for the kids on our 13 hour drive to yosemite. It was a big hit. Every page has full color pictures with great stories and tips. My 5 year old loved it as much as my eleven year old. It was such a great way to get them excited for the trip and once they saw the things in the pictures they were amazed. It was a blast. If you're debating buying this book for your kids I can say with confidence that it's a safe bet. Happy adventuring!

This is the book you must have for a trip with kids to Yosemite. Bought it for the kids. Ended up being what we read too!
