Crystal - CL-905 Stainless Steel Bread Knife, Black

A very good product. I use it for cutting layered cake and bread loaf. I am very happy with the purchase. I'm not a professional baker. I might have baked max 10 cakes and some 7 or 8 loafs of bread. But this knife have shown clear sign of quality of what it is supposed to do - cut the cake and bread without making a mess. For an amateur like me this is huge achievement to be able to cut the cake and bread properly. Price is more compared to other cheap options. I don't regret paying the extra premium for this knife.

Just received the product. Strong esthetic appeal, ergonomic design. Good build quality and I think better than cartini chef knife. Hope retention of sharpness will be better than cartini as it has been used 5cr15mov with 57 HRC grade steel. It is really value for money especially in Indian context. I have not rated 5 star because original German made knife deserve that.

I was always happy with products from Crystal family. I already own smaller knives from them, so had no scepticism while making this purchase.... Infact this product has gone beyond my expectations. I've already used knives from other well known brands, and this knife is no way lesser then them. Large knife, extremely well built, comfy to hold and has retained its sharpness even after a month of usage. Go for it guys.

The knife quality is a grade,it's beautiful, it's manufacturering quality is durable, it's Hardy, its sturdy.

This is not a first time I am using a knife. I have a fair expectation that it will last long. The problem is this German Steel (as mentioned) can't withstand daily kitchen uses and you have to sharpen this knife every week (if not twice a week) to ensure it cuts smooth. I have smaller knifes of this same series which is even worse in terms of sustaining the sharpness. Don't know what kind of german steel they are using, but I have serrated edged knife from prestige, victorinox which is still sharp after a decade of use. By the way, we do use chopping board, not done on granite slabs if you are thinking of this just in case. Stay away and save your money and time.

I've been using Crystal knives since the first day of hotel management, and this one is like the rest of the line -not fussy, and tremendous value for money. The balance could stand to be a bit better but it's great for sawing through almost anything out there bar the heaviest of bones.It's a bit heavy for fine work, but you can get the job done if you concentrate a little bit. The forged blade is a nice change from the sheet metal ones from thirty years ago, but the knife is a little thick towards the bunt. This makes it a little difficult to get fine slicing done, but as a general purpose knife at a low price this would be hard to beat.

Too sharp. This is pretty long...can cut even thin papers in a stroke, easy to use, got required heaviness, full length made of a silgle piece...made in India, but better than german.knives..searched too many knives and decided to experiment with this..I cannot share the review after a month of use, since i rarely use this. And i bought a small size of this for daily use.In photo, just to show the size, the knife is placed along with a victorinox small knife.

It’s a good quality product but it is not better than Cartini knives
