Singapore Math – Level 2B Math Practice Workbook for 3rd Grade, Paperback, Ages 8–9 with Answer Key Paperback – June 1, 2009

We have used the Singapore Math series to teach our kids math (since the schools really don't do it well, or at all. It has changed their level of knowledge, but more importantly there has been a shift from resenting the additional work to enjoying and looking forward to it (a little bribery helps, of course!). Since our schools won't do it, there are only two choices: 1) innumeracy for our children; or 2) do it ourselves. We have opted for the second choice, and use this series to help us. We recommend it heartily.

I began to buy this book when my daughter got into school, we are at public school system, so I try to give her some extra nutrition. :), I like the way/method that this book is teacher, at least you know not only way to solve a problem. I recommand this book definitely! My daughter is going to 3rd grade in fall, and I have already bought this series for 3rd.

My kiddos needed extra math practice. This workbook corresponded with our curriculum. It was helpful for my kids to have the extra practice, but also for me. I learned to do the same math problems differently a million years ago. So it was nice to have a hands on reference for how their teachers were explaining these math concepts.

Didn't get 4 stars because it did not specify it is not for the US but for the Standards (?) version. It follows along relatively well with the lessons, but not exactly with the US version. You can figure it out but it's not as forthright. Glad to have the extra practice when needed, and it does a nice job of giving examples and explaining the rationale. So we are happy enough with it that we bought the other levels for other children.

I ordered this for my 8 year old daughter to practice during her summer break.she can finish the book by herself with minimal assistance. This book is not challenging but good enough for reviewing the basics.

She says its mostly "easy", but I can tell that she is being challenged and expanding her thought process and is learning by the types of questions that she asks.Great value for the price. She gets through her regular schoolwork pretty quickly and I've found this workbook to be a great supplement/complement to her normal coursework.

I purchased this book for my 8 year old grandson to help him work on math skills over the summer. I had been told that the school district will be using the Singapore math program next year.Personally, I am not impressed with this math program. I found the book to be poorly arranged but have since been told by my daughter that this is the way math is now taught.I have used it a little but find he is making more progress with home made math games.

I use Singapore math practice book as part of our homeschool curriculum. I love the layout of those books - white pages, black clear letters and numbers. Not too few, not too many. No decorations. No smiling animals. It makes much easier for a child to concentrate on math and do practice with calm attitude and a smile.
