perfect to hold our GPS

Wife loves it. It fits her Garmin 51 and mounts in her 2004 Toyota Sequoia (1st Gen) CD slot very well.This mount is holds the GPS unit sturdy enough to use the GPS with confidence: adjusting for viewing the screen and when plugging in the address. Some like to say "I just use my phone". Good luck with that if you need to speak at the same time. We consider the phone as a back up.This mount puts the GPS in a space that is easily viewable, yet out of the way of anything else, and does not require glue, a friction pad, a suction cup nor does it need to occupy a cup holder (awkward).Sun fades the friction mounts (that sometimes require glue), and forget about suction cups. These were made to fail, even the quality ones. They ARE going to detach no matter what, it's only a matter of time. Just hope it's not in heavy traffic or during an emergency.One of the best features is this keeps the GPS out the blistering hot summer sun, which can cause the unit to shut down in order to protect itself (which can happen across the U.S.) A black GPS inside a windshield in the summer is not a good combo.The description says one can play CDs with this mount installed, but the wife doesn't use the CD player so this has not been tested. However, she like thing neat, not an eyesore and out of the way, so she loves it.

To start off, I was not paid to leave this review. I decided to just give this a chance not thinking it would even work but glad I took the chance on it. I have a Garmin Nüvi 56LMT and One of my older vehicles is a 2004 Lincoln Town Car has a standard factory radio/tape/cd player and it worked perfectly. I took a photo so you could see the fit in my car. Easy to install and you can flip it to either side to make the best fit in case it’s blocking something in your view, I chose to mount it this way and it works for me. There is a couple inches on each side of the CD player (a small gap) so I just centered it and tightened the wing nut once I had it how I liked it. It can adjust/turn side to side, and the oem bracket/ball mount that comes with your gps works great and it’s a solid secure fit once mounted. It doesn’t move around or fall down off the windshield due to hot or cold, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It has a good reach as well so you’re not leaning over the dash trying to enter an address lol, it’s close to your reach, I’m 5”4” female and have no issues. It’s very secure and convenient a must have on commutes/trips. I love it and I have no complaints so far. I always leave it mounted and never remove it now. I hope this helps someone make a good informed decision, sometimes we can over -rate or under - rate something but this item really deserves 5 stars. Thanks! :)

What a FANTASTIC gadget!! I provided a before and several after pics to give you an idea as to how this "sits" on my dash. I have a 2012 Honda CRV. I have not used this yet, so no review as to how stable while driving, etc. But I am hopeful that this "cuts the mustard".. 😁. Easy to install and seems sturdy, but I suppose time will tell. This CD slot GPS mount is built more solidly than expected. It holds tightly to the CD player slot and secures my Garmin Drivesmart 65 (7" display) reliably and in a good position for viewing. I am using it turned to where it holds the GPS higher than center and it works out perfectly so that I can still see the full display of the factory installed media player/backup camera on my Kia Sorento (~4" display). Another advantage of this position is that the GPS is in easy reach as opposed to windshield mounts that make it very difficult to use controls that are not voice activated. The only caveat is that if the air-conditioning is on high, the noise from the nearby vents interferes with the GPS voice recognition. I am very satisfied with this products functionality, build quality and price.

This works perfectly in my Toyota Tacoma. I can have my GPS solidly mounted and still play a CD. The wingnut does block some visibility but so does the GPS. Nevertheless, since I can customize the truck's display, I can see what I need to see with the GPS and device in place. The mount is able to be made solidly secure which means the GPS is also secure - no sliding around on the dashboard using the sandbag mount, plus the mount should be legal in all states. Some states do not allow windshield mounts - although maybe those laws have been repealed. It doesn't matter for this mounting method. I could mount the GPS in my Mazda but the CD player is down low so visibility would not be as good. I am very satisfied with this and recommend it 4/2019

I tried many different GPS car holder. This one doesn't fit to my Subaru car but it can use to Kia Soul car. It is easy to install and but not strong hold GPS. The head holds the GPS kind of loose that makes GPS easily to move the screen. Overall it is okay for the price I paid. I bought it for travel around I use my own GPS with this light mount holder.

The CD GPS holder works perfectly for my Garmin DriveSmart 65. I had mounted the GPS previously before with the suction mount. That would sometimes lose its grip and the GPS would fall. Also, the suction mount meant that some of my windshield view was obstructed by the GPS. This "sturdy CD slot GPS mount" had the exact size ball for my Garmin, installed effortlessly in seconds and seems more secure that I expected. It now sits in the middle of my console and is easier to view and also to touch for GPS prompts (I don't have to lean forward to the windshield anymore). Very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this to use in our 2nd car so I could leave the original garmin holder on the windscreen of my car. It is great and would recommend this product to anyone with a CD slot. So easy to use :)
