Dura Heat DH2304S 23,800 BTU Indoor Kerosene Heater

This new model with the no lift chamber is horrible. You can no longer manually light it with a match or long lighter. When the auto ignition button takes it time trying to light the wick or doesn't always work your screwed because the fumes start stink up the house. Even with the auto lighter I always manually would light the wick because it's faster and with less smell. The new model eliminates this function and makes it's miserable. I will be thrilled if someone can tell me how to by pass the auto ignition and manually light this new model, but to date no one has been able to and they have always reverted back on how to light the old model when this no longer applies. I've owned these heaters for 25 years and this is the first one I bought and returned because of this new feature.

I assembled this with no instructions because it was that easy and it worked perfectly right from the box no smoke no issues I’m probly going to buy another one I lost my heat in my house and so this is going to be my primary source of heat till summer it’s 1/18/20 I hope it goes well I’ll probly update later but don’t have any other options I’m heating a living room /kitchen and bedroom with just this heaterUpdate: the heater lasts like 10 hours on high and heats perfectly still the house we live in is incredibly poorly insulated love this heater definitely buy and one thing I did that helps a lot with it is I set a fan blowing the air above it to get circulation so not just one side of the room is warm the whole room is the same temperature for me

Product burns clean , no smoke or smell when you use the 1k kerosene. Granted kerosene is at about $3.00 bucks a gallon , this unit will burn for about ten to eleven hours on a full tank . I believe it is a one gallon tank. I going to pick up another one. Great to have incase of a power outage.

Had power outage and heated 1800 sq ft home to 66 degrees with outside temps in 20s and high winds.However, you will get kerosene odor. Not overwhelming, but noticable.

I have owned several of these kerosene heaters over the years and this one appears to be of exceptional good quality. Pretty easy to put together. Takes about 15 minutes. Good heater brings the temperature up in my kitchen in no time. I like it.

I put it together in a matter of minutes right out the box. Filled it and let it set about an hour before starting it up. Once lit, It went right to work warming the place up. Nice even heat from it. Easy to work.

Everything worked perfect, but the plastic bag with the 2 screws had felled in the burner, lucky for me that i kept looking for them and Found them before i litt the heater. My first burn took 15 min before the smell was gone and let it burn Furthermore in my living area. The thermostat went from 20°c tot 24.5°c in a bit more than 2 hours. Great heater if you now how and when you have use it and if you can use it. A lot of BTU = very cold weather or a very large area tot heat.Also used the Dura heat in a tent together with 2 normal Wick stoves and 1 laser stove. Temp. outside -7°c inside tent for the hole evening 16°c. O yeah CO meter we had as Well.Gers KennyBelgium

Great size for the money but even with wick adjusted right it’s too Smokey to want to use indoors like I intended if the power went ouy

This Heater is much bigger than I expected, which is not a bad thing at all! I was worried when purchasing that it may have a chance of being tipped over by my Grandchildren, but upon seeing it when it arrived at my Son's apartment I'm not in the least bit worried, it's huge! This is by far one of the best purchases I've made to date. With the Storms we get on the East Coast and the power outages we experience this will warm his apartment nicely!

I am relieved to have some thing as a back up for our inevitable power outages. I have set it up and tested it all, it lit very well, seems like a lot of heat pouring out. I do recommend you try it all out, and don’t just leave it in the box until you need it. There is a bit of a learning curve. Storing the kerosine was another issue. No matter where I stored it I could smell it a bit, So I ended up storing it outdoors.

This heater totally works as advertised! It comes well packed for shipping, arrives in 6 pieces which take far less time to assemble (2 Phillips screws) than it does to read the Manual for it. Excellent for heating anything up to around 800 square feet (Which I'm doing right now). Great for Emergencies when no electricity is available and it's cold out! It's safe and stable for indoor use, which is something I really like.

In cold weather -21 to -24 Celsius the electric ignitor will not work, produces lots of heat just enough to take the chill off a 130 square foot sunroom but not enough to heat it at these temperatures
