Compact but Brimful
This books is small, but rich with information about Roman religious practices from original or other ancient sources. Who the Romans were worshiping and how and sometimes why is supported here with quotations (translated to English) from ancient sources. This book is edited by Valerie M Warrior and may supplement her excellent companion volume, Roman Religion, with additional topics and illustrations beyond that book. It you want to know how Rome ruled the world you may want to have these resources. I found them fascinating.

Solid resource.
Great sourcebook by Valerie Warrior. Many primary sources covering a variety of topics. Purchased this for a personal research project on Roman religion, and was not disappointed.

Useful and detailed enough for someone new to the subject
Warrior does a very good using examples to explain Roman religion. Especially for someone who is new to this area of history. It isn't overwhelming with details, but it has enough to get the main points across. A very well rounded, basic book on Roman religion and good basis point for anyone looking to understand it.

this is a sourcebook of short excerpts relating to various aspects of Roman Religion, including astrology, sacrifice, the role of the family cults, and the like.I found the selection to be good and the translations accessible. I think this is a very helpful book on the subject. Highly recommended.
