extra strong asafoetida powder of excellent quality
This asafoetida is extremely strong but has a delicious flavor. Only a pinch is required as its potency could become overpowering otherwise. Its strong allium-like sulfur flavor features prominently in foods from India and Pakistan and also in the cuisine of surrounding cultures and ethnicities. Dal, rasam, sambar, pickles, or anything that benefits from a savory tadka would be greatly enhanced with this hing. It is especially efficacious for anyone with dietary restrictions that prevent the use of onion or garlic. This particular hing is compounded with wheat but there are other products that use methi instead for those adhering to a gluten free diet.

Best When Cooked into Meal
I found that when I did not cook it, I felt uncomfortable. It has a great flavor! Very tasty!

Strong hing
If you do a lot of Rajasthani or Jain style cooking, this one is a no-brainer- buy it. The hing is strong and flavorful.

Too expensive and too pretentious
This product is so small and the scent non existent that it is absolutely not worth the premium price. This is definitely not the strongest of Hings

Insect inside, DO NOT BUY
Cant believe, there was an insect inside. ... and when I tried to return (just got it today btw), this item is not eligible for return ... woooahh

Wow is this strong flavored and smelling
This is a very powerful herb. Even touching the jar makes my hand smell like hing. Its a flavor id never experienced but will become included in my cooking from now on. This is no joke you could stink up a whole house. Keep it in a scent proof bag or jar if possible .

Wanted to like it
We are a traditional baniya/ jain family and have been used to add asafetida/ hing in all our preparations for decades.We have never believed in the quality that retails at around Rs. 30 - 100 for 20/ 30 grams of it as we know that quality that we look out for is something that we can never get that in that price band.We have a set of traditional shops from where we generally buy this item.This time, we thought of experimenting and looking at the price and description, bought this but to our disappointment and loss, we did not find the quality even at par with the stuff that comes in 1/10th of the price.Even those stuff have some aroma and taste but this was a complete disappointment.It is highly recommended not to buy this product if someone is looking for quality and do not get fooled by the price tag it has.

Very very strong
Very very very strong. We make sambhar with strong flavour of hing hence only for sambhar I buy strong hing. This one I used in a small quantity but than also sambhar became bitter in taste with very strong taste of hing that means this product is pure, you have to use it very little , just pinch,even pinch is more. Very nice and pure product.

I got full value taste by using this hing.
Although price is high but on the other hand product is very good . Small qt.(a pinch) gives good aroma , flavoure and special taste. I got full value of money .This quality has minimum wheat flour .After a long search I found this hing with minimum wheat flour so it is very strong.Our family is hing lover , in the tase of all Dal Sabji Sambher Chutney Badi Papad Pakora all namkin and Achar our preference is only the flavoure and taste of hing . This hing proved suitable for our taste. I also recommend to hing lovers to bye this particular hing atleast once , rest depend on hing performance.I am happy with the taste and aroma of this hing it is value for money.

Hingoholic suggest not to use this product..
I started using this hing recently.. rather used just twice... has to be used in atom quantity as it’s REALLY strong.. but the bad part is it has a very PECULAR taste which is REALLY BAD which we realise as aftertaste after every bite... I do not recommend this being a Hingoholic...

Pure !!It should be used cautiously. One cannot add it freely just like other common products...it will spoil the taste.It's real value lies in strong and lasting aroma plus the real flavour of heeng it brings to the food.
