Journal Me Organized: The Complete Guide to Practical and Creative Planning

A great collection of journaling resources all in one place
First off, you might be like me and thinking "do I really need this book? I can find journaling/BuJo ideas all over Instagram/blogs/Pinterest/etc."And that's 100% true. You probably don't need this book, but here's why I recommend it anyway:1) You want to have a solid overview of some basic journaling workflows - this book is a great overview of various journaling styles, including bullet journaling, the Alastair method, etc and it's extremely helpful to flip through and have these all in one place.2) You interested in getting started, but have gotten way too much information overload from YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc - if so, I can definitely recommend this book. It has a wide variety of styles ranging from the simple to the complex but also gives a nice array of examples. I'll still be checking out YouTube/Skillshare for inspiration, but I like that this is something that I can come back to when I'd like to keep a collection of basic styles to reuse and elaborate on.3) You prefer a more minimalistic style, but don't mind getting the occasional burst of inspiration - this definitely is a good book for minimalists, and the author does a pretty good job of calling out the more bare-bones layouts. If you'd like a minimalist guideline w/o having to search through a ton of tutorials this is a great resource. The only minus against this book, in my opinion, is the sections on lettering/the index at the end of the book - the doodles are nice, but the lettering examples are pretty atrocious (or perhaps the author's style just isn't for me). But that's not really the point of the book so I don't count it against that. Overall a solid purchase that I'd recommend to anyone either who is getting started, or would just like a collection of ideas to reuse w/o having to scour the internet to find some simple layouts.

Homeschool Mom, no more planners for me! Bullet Journal
This was the first book I purchased at the beginning of my bullet journal/ traveler's notebook journey that started back in November of 2018. At first I felt overwhelmed with how awesome her drawings and layouts were but its amazing how quickly one can develop a skill and personal style just by jumping in and trying. Each month I develop a better understanding of what works and what doesn't. This type of planning/journaling is so malleable that as your months, weeks, and even days very so much in flow you can create as you go and have your planner change to meet your needs. I have a few other books like this along with doodle books but this one and the Bullet Journal book by Ryder Carroll are clearly my go to books now. I homeschool 3 boys and for years have tried and given up on numerous planning systems out there. This method has changed my life. Seriously. Sounds like a sales pitch but its not. It's been a huge blessing to my life. Thank you Rebecca for sharing what you have learned!BTW I personally find the drawing, headers, etc to be very calming and a source of "soul fuel". If that isn't the case you can leave the doodles out completely and still find the organizing of thoughts as your weeks change useful. I started super plain and added the doodles and brush lettering later as it felt natural and no longer overwhelming.Update: Years later and still making bullet journal spreads. I have advanced my skills tremendously but this is still hands down my favorite book on the subject. And yes, bullet journaling is a subject in my opinion. : )

Excellent if you are very new to Bujo
This book is great if you’re brand new to bullet journaling! Or if you have been trying to understand it and save things online and put them into practice- I expected this to be a little more helpful than it actually is, but I’m keeping it in case I need to reference back to something.

This book is full of productive creativity!
This book is full of productive creativity! Yes, one can find pics of bullet journal spreads on Instagram and Pinterest, and vids on YouTube, BUT those can’t beat having these great ideas and pictures in one place! I am truly enjoying this creativity-generating guide. I moved from analog to digital and back to analog but still needed less structure and more flexibility not offered in many paper planners. This book shows one how to create a custom journal, beautifully. I thought hard about buying a book full of content that I might find scatted throughout social media. Who has time to organize all of that! I am glad I decided to purchase it.

Exactly what I needed!
I am a homeschool mom to 5 kids so naturally I have to be very organized and relaxed at the same time for our days to run smoothly. Rebecca introduces and teaches a whole new way of planning and journaling that incorporates functional lists and art using your own creative style. She writes it for the beginner to the expert planner, allowing each reader to embrace a new freedom in their planning and displays contemplative methods using art to organizing daily to do lists, weekly schedules, monthly events and even the whole year. I highly recomend this book, it is well worth the purchase and I know I will be using this book for years to come. I am so excited to finally create my own planner using my own creativity and inner artist to organize and journal our beautiful busy life!

Not actually a planner
I didn't read the description close enough to realize this is a book of ideas for a planner you can create and put together yourself and not an actual planner, lol. So lots of cute ideas but just not what I was looking for.

Colorful and easy to read
What a great book!!! Such an easy read and so inspiring with all those pictures. I absolutely love her habit tracker and habit breaker page idea. What a great way to keep yourself accountable. I also love the brain dump page idea. I always have a million thoughts running through my head and this has really been helpful to write it down so that I know I won’t forget. I love that she shows you fun ways to get a little artistic with the journal rather than just boring writing. And those templates in the back are GREAT!!! Awesome job Rebecca. I will be recommending this book to all my friends.
