Holy Puranas (3 vol. set)

Books were new but a little rough. Get set though and I love the covers.

This is actually a three volume set, with a partial translation of each variant of the puranas that I know of - there are about twenty versions of this text. the puranas cover a wide range of teaching, astronomical, astrological, geographic, chronological, religious mythology and ethical discussion. The author has tended to leave out some long lists, of divine names, and sadly all of the lunar dynastic lists - I was hoping this compilation would include some of them. However it made me aware of what a wide ranging text the puranas is. This is the best - i.e. least scholarly general introduction to this source I have found so far.
