It’s real
I actually enjoyed this film the most out of the entire trilogy. The characters are a few years older than me. I watched the first film in my teens and it did not resonate at all. I found it a bit corny, but something about the two characters stuck with me. There are not many movies which are largely just two people talking. And I’ve watched the third now, 8 years after it came out, but almost now the same age and in a long term relationship that ironically also started as young and free backpackers and it really resonates as so very true.It isn’t romantic but romance doesn’t last forever and the things you fall in love with, you later come to be irritated about one another.I don’t think there was any cliffhanger ending as others have said. Anyone in a long term relationship will have had this experience and you just clear the air and accept that you still love each other.I also think Jesse is written better in this film. In the first, he’s pretentious and a bit annoying and in the second, despite getting married and having a child, he leaves his family for a holiday fling. In fact, that annoys me about Céline too that they never acknowledge that he is doing something exceptionally awful and that they are both self-centred… but these things happen and I like that they are living with the very real consequences of their choices but the love continues as in weaker lives, it would not… and I think that’s perhaps the greatest aspect of romance at all. They never could have lived happily ever after and I’m glad it’s shown that way.

Watch this!
Wow! I was ready to be disappointed by the (so far) last film of this remarkable trilogy. I didn't think that these character could become any more interesting or real. There is a tendency in books or films that run into a series to become weaker, less inventive and more forced as the move along. None of the three well directed, marvellously acted, have suffered in this way which is even more amazing because all three films rely almost totally on characterisation and chemistry. Yes, there's a narrative. A sort of fairly simply one but with no recourse to gratuitous sex, violence of any sort, or special effects to keep out interest. Instead Linklater, Delpy and Hawke have just managed to tell a beautiful but honest story of people and their lives over nearly six hours of viewing and 20 years of story. This film brings us up to date and as I say I was worried it might have been a film too far but this is as good as the other two and would work as a stand alone story but works so very well as a continuation after we've got to know this couple in the previous films. I don't want to give away any of the narrative regarding where the characters start the film or end it you just need to watch it.

Let's end it here
I finally watched the third film in the "Before" series and was a bit disappointed. The first film, "Before Sunrise," had its charms: Love developing between two young strangers as they spend a night walking around Vienna. The second one, "Before Sunset," was enjoyable too, as the pair meet again in Paris years later and the old sparks are rekindled. The third film shows Jesse and Celine years later as a couple with children while on a holiday in Greece. But by now the non-stop dialogue that was a feature of the first two films has become constant bickering -- and it's no more pleasant than listening to any couple bickering. Yes, the film brings up real problems that many couples have, and for that it is worth watching. Long-hidden complaints and resentments come to the surface. Jesse and Celine are highly intelligent, flawed individuals, and the dialogue captures that well.To sum up: If you enjoyed the first two films in the series, you probably have some affection for Jesse and Celine (and/or you're a fan of Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy) and you will want to see them again. If you have not seen "Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset," you may find the non-stop talking to be annoying.Personally, I hope that "Before Midnight" is the last film in the series. Let's leave Jesse and Celine's future life together to the imagination.

It was quite good. It wasn't that Romantic like the other two ...
Can't understand why these people leave it 1 Star? It was quite good. It wasn't that Romantic like the other two but it was showing how people would be together after 9 years, maybe because this wasn't a Romantic Fantasy some people hated it? To much like Real Life? But I watched an interesting interview with Julie Delpy and the Director on Youtube and they said they wanted to make it Real and they knew people may not like it, Julie Delpy even seemed surprised people liked it. As they wanted the Film to follow Real Life and there is always going to be some consequences and resentment if you leave things behind, so it had a Very Good Message. I'm happy they did a film like this and not made it a unrealistic romantic fantasy.

" Uhhh " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I say this, as a younger (and potentially far more self righteous) me would hate to admit how close this film comes to the truth. However, would seem an older me, would like to categorically state that deja-vu was spookily present.Of course, I'll vehemently deny this if asked.Seriously though, I've watched some films. I've seen bad, and luckily seen very good ones. These three, had something different. Was it my escapism, drawn to the locations possibly ? Well, admittedly enticing but not all that kept my attention."Ahh, the 'cliffhanger' style endings then " ? Well, no actually. Many films have come and gone in the interim period. My mind has been elsewhere ya know. It's an almost honest feel to them all. It's the " can I REALLY say how this 'thing' some would call love goes" ? Happy for those who participated in the making of these films. I think you got quite a kick out of them. I also think you'll remember some parts, acted or spoken. I hope they stay with you forever more, so to learn from.Anyone coming to watch this, the third film thus far, you have but one mission... PUT ON YOUR HONEST HEAD :)
