very good and clear channel reception
I bought this HDTV tuner thinking that my HD tuner in my tv is bad, but it turns out it was the wiring, so I returned it back to the vendor with full refund. The refund process is prompt with no hussle.I did try this HDTV tuner, and I am able to receive all the channels from the air, compared to my LG TV set, there is no channel lost. The channel signal is very clear and the manual is easy to use.I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Best I Have Seen, but needs more work too
This is a very ambitious box, that tries to do a lot of things and gets it mostly right. I DO like these features: The tuner section allows stations to be added manually, after a scan has been completed. This is huge. Most tv tuners are cheap designs that only hold the stations that were currently scanned in. But if you were to rotate your antenna towards another town, and wanted to scan in their tv station also, you could not do so, without losing all of the accumulated scans you already have accumulated. Ergo, the manually entered station. This box also adds in new stations that come into range after your initial scan (say, after dark, when VHF tunneling can give incredible distance to your viewing choices..kind of a hobby for me now). I like the 'Guide" function. It gives a very nice listing of programs coming up on the station you are tuned to, for the whole day usually. I also like the quality of the analog to digital signal conversion for the one remaining analog station in my area (it's owned by Fox, so no surprise there). Now the negatives: The remote is the worlds most poorly layed-out device I have ever used. I Will replace it with a Universal Learning Remote soonest. After a few weeks of operation, there are some rough edges that have become irritating. The tuner has trouble not getting lost when tuning between stations that have more than 1 associated stations, ie: 36.1, 36.2, 36.3, 36.4 The tuner will confuse itself on what sidechannel it is saying it is tuned to..all the time now. Also, as you tune through say, the above example station list, you will hear snippets of the stations it tunes through before arriving at the chosen station. Locking onto that station is not as sure a thing as I would like to see either. Output quality at first was very nice, and actually better than the tv tuner that I am bypassing (Sanyo 42", 2014). Now however, the picture has become too sharp, and too contrasty.Biggest complaint of all is that occasionally, the unit will freeze and disable the output. Only a cold restart will cure this problem which occurs at every couple day interval. I have the unit sitting by itself in the open, so ambient heat should not be a problem. All in all, it is good box, that does a lot of stuff pretty well. This is a superior start for sure, and I will be following and buying their products as they improve.

My previous unit gave me beautiful 1080p video using the composite plugs
Way less than satisfactory. There was not enough information describing it. It contradicted my past experience. My previous unit gave me beautiful 1080p video using the composite plugs. This unit only delivers 480 which takes things back to the old days before high definition. They claimed that that was the standard and it could only deliver 480. Since my system is old enough that it cannot take any input except composite yet delivered 1080p I cannot believe their claim. I have researched the internet and have not been able to confirm that composite can only deliver 480, but I do have my past experience to refute their claim. In fact I used the EXACT same plug as before and cannot get a picture to equal what I got before.

Good video, design flawed audio connection
Bought the tuner for a high end projector and AV receiver home theater set up. This tv tuner sends HD video and low quality stereo through HDMI and sends surround 5.1 through a toslink optical cable. Many AV receivers including, my Onkyo, ignore all else when any audio signal comes through HDMI as HDMI audio is expected to be highest quality as an industry standard. There is no way to turn off the poor stereo HDMI signal from the tuner. To work around this tuner design flaw I had to buy a new (expensive) long HDMI cable and fish it to the projector to run the HDMI video from the tuner straight to the projector. It works fine with this setup. Good HD picture, and sound is good with this setup. Good GUI and program info. Contacting the seller/manufacturer was not helpful, they initially treated me like I was clueless and would not give me my money back. Someone connecting this tuner to a little tv would never notice this audio design flaw issue.
